Lunatic will go crazy if it's Davidson Doesn't fit what they look for.

Brantley's instagram story today shows an airplane and the caption, "CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA". I assume he's visiting a school down there. Lunatic will go crazy if it's Davidson. Other ones down close to there: UNC Charlotte and Queens. Brantley is not a Davidson type player.

Charlotte finished with a 114 NET and finished 3rd in the AAC. That's a bit of a step up.

Davidson puts a premium on good decision-making and perimeter shooting. Neither of which Brantley does consistently
Very silly
Says a lot if Washington State moves away from Brantley. Brantley put himself out there big time for Washington state or really any school. And that is a program (WSU) desperate for players.

Charlotte finished with a 114 NET and finished 3rd in the AAC. That's a bit of a step up. I'd be more inclined to look at the Conference NET ranking and not strictly the team. In that case, he'd be taking a step down in rank. With that being said, past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

From CoBL article following his commitment:
Born in New York, Brantley moved down to Charlotte, N.C., when he was six years old. The middle of five brothers — Rashawn (32), Tevin (30), Kamal (15) and David (13) — Khalil lived in the Tar Heel state until after his freshman year of high school at Rocky River (N.C.), when he moved up to the Big Apple to continue his high school career.
A product of both the Northeast and the South, Brantley still spends time in both states, including each of the last two summers in North Carolina.

Ultimately if he gets more NIL money than he got at La Salle he is probably a winner in this scenario.

I really think Khalil was ultimately influenced by the money offered to Brickus. He's probably turned down some decent offers maybe even one from La Salle. He may have over valued himself and he may have to settle for an offer and a conference below what he anticipated.

But, I certainly wouldn't mind being surprised. The more I do read more informed folks posts here about guys we are getting perhaps he will not be missed as much as I fear.

Based on watching McKeithan's highlights, seems like his shooting stroke is a little smoother and quicker than Khalil's

There were a lot of times where he had the ball with 5 seconds to go on the shot clock and a shot a had to be put up. So he did. Now could it be his fault that the offensive possession ended the way it did.. he is the PG after all but there a ton of variables at play outside of him including Dunphy.

khalil got better each year he was here. click on the stats icon in his roster bio and look at the 3 seasons summarized at the bottom. what more could you ask of a player. goexplorers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/khalil-brantley/11913 he played extremely hard on both sides of the ball. imo, there was never an effort problem. sure, he had some issues with shot selection and forcing things, but not once did i ever think he did that out of being selfish. he wanted to win as much as any la salle player i've ever seen. not sure if he was even the 6'1" he was listed at, but he averaged 5.3 rebounds per game this past season which is outstanding for a guy his size. that was all effort. he improved in every statistical category each of his three years except his 3 pt shooting which went down slightly his senior year, mainly because of an early season slump which he came out of midway through the a10 schedule. that consistent improvement is impressive. his teammates and coaches all seemed to love him as well. he had a fine career here and i wish he was staying. i wanted to see him take that next step where the game would slow down for him and he would consistently let the game come to him but it doesn't appear that's going to happen. i hope he does well wherever he ends up.

Glad to see Dunph was proactive and filled needs not waiting for a delayed KB decision.
And hey, kudos to KB for cashing in; if we can’t afford him I can’t fault him for taking the money. There is no doubt he gave maximum effort and I enjoyed watching his energy and his chemistry with Jig.
Having said that, he likely won’t be a prime player at OSU and since he didn’t dominate A10 competitors, I think he will struggle against the new league talent especially KU, ISU and the upper echelon teams. I am thinking 6 ppg, sub .34 shooting (3 ball) , less than quality FG % band a lousy asst to to ratio for him with the pokes.
So there will be green on the other side but that doesn’t mean the grass will be greener. These are the realities of the NIL age.

Good luck to Khalil. He represented La Salle well.
That being said, he is not going to move Oklahoma State up their conference ladder. I think he is a mid A10 level player.

Good luck to Brantley at OSU, he be well missed. Brantley gave everything on the court for us in the past 3 years. Brantley half court game winning shot against Penn will go down as one the greatest game in Big 5 history. This give me a good reason to watch Big 12 basketball to see Brantley and Jocius (UCF) play next season.

Crazy to think there are people on here who are faulting former players of ours for opting to play in conferences like the ACC, Big East and Big 12 (heck, even higher regarded programs in similar conferences). They gave at the office. Let them have a year of making some coin and playing up, even if they get less minutes than they would have here.

Best of luck to Khalil and I really hope this board figures out these transfers up are good things. 4 year stars in the A-10 barely existed before and will even less going forward; our future with legit talent HS and freshmen transfers in is proving to those kids that if you play well here that’s in reach.

I think he almost went to OK State out of high school. I didn’t even know they were an option for transfer but things change fast when the portal is one way traffic.
