The answer is simple. Ban collectives, and let NIL be true NIL. Brickus can get what he gets, like we can all get what we get. Jameer's kid won't be worth anywhere near the 250K that TCU paid him. Lun how do we know that he received 250K?

Nor should they be... they should be outlawed. It's gaming the NIL system.

I'm not going to put the source out there. It's 100 percent accurate.

We have to root for VCU today. If John Glaser was still alive we’d be suing the Dukes for tampering by taking the Drame twins… something that is morally wrong even if the new rules allow it.

Why should a billionaire have more power than 1000 millionaires together. Money is money. Where it has gone is the obvious place it was always going to go. If it comes from a single entity or group shouldn’t matter.

Who's this "we"? I highly doubt it would have been John Glaser. Maybe you and The Cos again, Steve? You just make crap up out of the blue.

Good luck to the Dukes... and the Drame twins.
Dambrot, Lebron, St. Vincent-St. Mary's...
Maybe bronny will leave USC for Duquesne, since he's an A10 level player.
Go Dukes and the NIL!!!

So do you want them to have to buy a billboard? I'm sure if they make that rule, they'll just buy the billboard. Jhamir Brickus supports the Explorers United NIL Collective. Right there on a billboard.
I know you hate this stuff...but it's the money not the mechanism.

It sure is something for those two guys (130M in earnings at Bama for Saban and 30M or so for Boeheim at Cuse) to be against the athletes getting paid. What neither of them like is that they no longer have the sole say in recruiting.
Give me examples of people who aren't directly affected.

Side note, I think this is the 2nd consecutive year no Philly teams in the tourney?
Now’s the perfect time to go all in with NIL. There’s a gap and La Salle can fill that void if they just go all in. Pretty risky in the A10 but at least with Dunph you know you have a good coach and with the “excitement” of a “new” arena you don’t get this opportunity often. Go all in, make up for the last miss not capitalizing on the Sweet 16.

You asked for 2 prominent examples in college athletics, I gave that. If you want to add different criteria then feel free. Either way, I wasn’t arguing against you…I don’t care for the NIL and while it’s not the “cleanest” way to do business, it is the current landscape and if colleges want to be successful then in most cases they gotta play by those new rules.

I guess that wasn't who I thought Loon meant with "prominent folks". I quite frankly don't care what retired coaches think. Existing coaches at high levels are keeping their mouths shut. Saban didn't bring this up until he was out the door.

Not sure where to put this, but La Salle was one of only two A-10 teams to play 3 ranked opponents. The other being Loyola.
