Wouldn’t have been mad at Loyola or Richmond earning a bid. Now stuck with Dayton and a bid stealer.

St. Joe's actually has a chance to win it all. I put them as the odds on favorite.

I'm putting 200 on St. Joes, and if it hits, it's a push present spa day for my wife before the 4th baby gets here. I should have like 400 in gravy after the spa day.

Anyone else going exhibiting withdrawal symptoms today? I hate the off day in this tournament.

Anyone else going exhibiting withdrawal symptoms today? I hate the off day in this tournament. I am 50-50. As a fan with no skin in the game I don't like. The extra day does help this teams that have been playing without the double bye and I do appreciate that.

Anyone else going exhibiting withdrawal symptoms today? I hate the off day in this tournament. If anyone going through withdrawal symptoms, you can watch Temple play against Charlotte in the quarterfinals at 9:30pm. Temple won the first two games(Temple upset SMU yesterday in the second round). Hysier Miller(21 points 6 assists and 6 steals) was balling against SMU yesterday. Temple and St. Joe’s is the last hope for a Big 5 school to make the NCAA Tournament.

Speaking of lines... I'm getting clocked this week. Betting waaayyy too many favorites and paying for it. Should just blindly bet dogs.

Well make it three in a row for Temple. Temple just upset Charlotte 58-54 in the quarterfinals. Steve Settle lll (14 points and 6 rebounds) lead them to victory. Now we have St. Joe’s and Temple in the semifinals in their conference tournament. Hope still alive to have a Big 5 school in the NCAA tournament.

Chris Walker is a pedestrian, pretty boring color announcer. I wish CBS had Dr. G doing color with Tom McCarthy.

Dukes versus Rams.
When was the last time Duquesne made the tournament?
Norm Nixon’s team in the 70’s?

Dukes versus Rams. When was the last time Duquesne made the tournament? Norm Nixon’s team in the 70’s? Wiki says 1977, and Rothstein confirms

Amazing what a little NIL money did for Duquesne 60K for 2 twins, 1 of whom hasn't played in a month, one of whom played 27 minutes and scored as many points as you did. I guess if they cut nets down tomorrow, it's worth it. Go VCU.

What do we think an average A-10 starter’s market value is?
How much for a first team all conference player?
I’d guess Brickus is 100K on open market.
I’ve heard power conference starters are typically 100K, all conference players are 250K-500K, All American players $1 million or more ($2 million for Dickinson at Kansas). It’s all been going up though.

I'm somewhat suspicious about the NIL money being thrown around. Are there any public disclosure requirements either to their respective universities or their donors? The collectives, agents, families and players benefit from floating higher numbers. What's to stop player X from claiming a higher offer from a school recruiting him than the actual offer. That's okay if it's just business but if the school trying to retain the player finds out they lied about the offer it could be incredibly destructive to relationships and teams. I'm all in favor of players getting paid but this system is fraught with potential fraud. That being said, I'm going to donate to our collective, probably not enough to get Reed Sheppard to leave Kentucky but every little bit helps I'm sure.😃

It’s all been going up though. I’ve asked this question several times on the board and two a few friends and I am getting a wide range of answers… But the consistent answer is that the big public state schools have such a huge advantage because they can get 1000 donors to give $1,000 easily… Unfortunately, legislation from Capitol Hill is not gonna be coming anytime soon, so this gray area is only going to get worse… Separately, another issue with collectives and schools, and this was a couple years ago, per a few of my assistant coach friends, is what happens when a collective does not agree with the coach on a certain player… remember the the payment is from the collective, not the coach.. Another way to think about this is how collectives are recruiting players during the season on other teams.. only for that collective’s coach to find out after season and he doesn’t want that player… The wild, Wild West is only going to get Wilder in the coming couple years

The answer is simple. Ban collectives, and let NIL be true NIL. Brickus can get what he gets, like we can all get what we get. Jameer's kid won't be worth anywhere near the 250K that TCU paid him.
