Spotted: The infamous 'Hawaiian Dole' advertisement. Bring back the radio spot. Seconded. I'm a big fan of ham and pineapple pizza.

Watched Drexel and Charleston I don’t like the layout. Our drawings have everything with angled seating between the sides and back seating so no gaps show. Looks much better.
Worst thing about the DAK is lighting. It is horrendous. It looks like they are playing the game in the basement.

Anyone know the latest on this? Curious if there is anything special happening as it relates to facilities for the Day of Giving coming up.

Anyone know the latest on this? Curious if there is anything special happening as it relates to facilities for the Day of Giving coming up. The February 28 Collegian has an article about the Campus Master Plan, which will be presented to the BOT this month. Per the article: “The TruMark project will be broken into different parts. The court reconfiguration and renovation will come first, followed by the fieldhouse and ‘pub,’ instead of attacking the elements together.” I didn’t see a timeline mentioned for construction or fundraising, but maybe that will follow after the BOT meeting. I also looked for this article on The Collegian website, but it appears as if the website hasn’t been updated with the most recent issues. I’ll end with this statement in the article from Madame President: “We don’t really have a setting for basketball that matches our legacy in that sport or our aspirations.”

Bumping because summer is slow and there’s no more recruits or schedule to discuss.
My understanding is E&F are gone or soon will be so I’m not sure if it’s related to this project or it was happening regardless. Interesting.
New AD officially started today, why don’t we have a new arena?

St. Joe's Alumni magazine just had an article on their campus plans for short and long term. We need something published formally that people can see and rally behind. It feels like things have stalled...at least from a communications standpoint for us. sites.sju.edu/magazine/2019/09/envisioning-a-connected-campus/

How can you rally support when you don’t display or unveil what to support? Maybe this project is too far in the rear view mirror still. Hopefully not but eagerly awaiting word on this.

Something definitely should be published. Should be at least a tiny drip of info every once in a while to keep people engaged and invested in the plan. I would think a public publishing would hold the school accountable to meet deadlines etc. as well

Watching it on TV. Not a big fan of it. Hate the gates around the entire arena and the side stands are not steep enough. It is like Gola’s stands that are not steep enough.

Most of those gates are likely security mandates, no?

What is the deadline for construction to begin? stop already. there won't be a new arena. there will be a reno of trumark/gola. the e&f demolition is ongoing. looks like the interior of each building has been stripped bare or close to it so unless the phila area gets hit with extreme weather, it will be done by the january 2020 expected completion date.

Much rather than a new arena the school builds a basketball practice facility like the Davis Center at Villanova.

I'd wager a ton of money that building is loaded with both lead and asbestos. Loved E&F.

Much rather than a new arena the school builds a basketball practice facility like the Davis Center at Villanova. We need both but we can't keep rolling out Gola to recruits and the fan base. You need to make La Salle at least look like a D-1 program to everyone. Playing in our junior high gym does not allow that.

During recruiting schools push the practice facility. Phog Allen, Rupp, and Cameron are antiquated but they have top notch practice facilities. Maryland opened their arena but they are far behind because they have no dedicated practice facility - they are fundraising for that now. Rutgers just opened a new practice facility. VCU'S recruiting literature is heavy on the practice facility. Fans will come to see a winning team - whether it is in the Gola or a brand new facility. Eventually brand new fades to fans. The priority should be a practice facility IMO
