Note that the 2018 proposed Tom Gola Arena renovation / retrofit architectural drawings ( e.g., drawing Nos. 35 thru 41 ) by Kimmel Bogrette, Architecture and Site, that had been incorporated in the March, 2019 proposed Campus Master Plan submitted to the BOT, which had envisioned north, south, east and west pedestrian concourses at the mezzanine level surrounding the seating bowl, were ultimately not utilized, presumably due to the significantly higher ( unmanageable ) estimated construction cost. I'm not trying to be a wise guy here, but why does it matter? They probably weren't the first plans and they obviously weren't the last. What's the significance of them not being used as compared to the arena we have today? The Master Plan gets revised as well, right? Things change or get stale.

Really looking forward to being there next Saturday. Won't be able to fully contextualize it until I'm there.

Does anyone know if/when the last section of retractable seating will be done? Looking at the picture just posted above, still looks like the last section (the very left of the picture next to the Glaser suite) is still in progress.

I will say that it passes the "At least look like an arena in pictures" test so far. Still need to see how it looks on TV and how it feels in person, but it at least passes the first test.

Dumb question because I honestly forget, is the court supposed to be named after Gola? So something like Tom Gola Court at John Glaser Arena?
