Odd choice to consider SJU.
I don’t care if any of these players leave. Picking this coach is the most important decision. I frankly would only welcome Moore, Clark, and Brantley back with a new coach.
I also won’t lose sleep over any of these players.
Focus should be entirely on the selection of the coach.

Should any Explorer ever transfer in conference, I will not ever root for them. I know, it's immature and petty, but everybody has a line. I also think it's a scumbag move to recruit A10 kids in the portal, and perhaps the coaches should police themselves.

Yeah, I don't ever want to see a kid leave, but I'm really curious to see how he fares in the ACC. His game should translate nicely to a major.

His game should translate nicely to a major. with Jack and Clifton, I think they were both a perfect fit for A10 play. Stepping up to a P5 conference is a whole different ballgame. Players are faster, more athletic and there are 2 to 3 guys at the same or better talent level on the team that your fighting for playing time with. The CBB experience for them though....packed arenas, rivalries, tradition, travel arrangements, fan bases etc. you can't beat that. But if it's more minutes and more court exposure they are looking for...that may be tough to get. |

I could end up very wrong a year from now, but I think a guy like him will benefit from playing up. His athleticism and skillset were never an issue and playing with better players might allow him to just settle into a role versus being a focal point.

There is potential that it could work out for both these guys. We'll see. But I look at the decision Tre Mitchell made to transfer to Texas. Saw his minutes and scoring ave cut in half and he's off the national radar. Was one of the top 5 players in the A10 a year ago, and now he's transferring again. And the URI Mitchell Bros going to Arkansas??? What are THEY thinking??? Sometimes the grass isn't always greener... |
