You got me at “ A campus move”.- Where to?? San Diego, Arizona, Florida, etc.? I dread the thought of telling my grandchildren+ great grandchildren, this is where your “Poppy” went to school( 20th+ Olney) and there was nothing there! SCARY! Would be better if you could say "it used to be here and now it is here" as opposed to "there used to be a university called La Salle." Places La Salle has been: - Kensington - Center City - Spring Garden (was here for 44 years) - North Broad Nothing to say you can't add Chestnut Hill or Gwynned Valley or Northeast Philadelphia or Glenside to this list.

I'm confident the right leadership that puts the faculty in focus...which is the lifeblood of the school's mission...will get La Salle back on track. At the meeting last night, there was lots of positivity toward O'Shaughnessy from faculty members (and yes I know it is early) ... but he has already reinstated some benefits for faculty and staff that had been cut and I was told they felt he is listening to them more than they were listened to in the past few years.
Engaged faculty sell the school and create engaged students who build connections and give back. Hopefully that can help enrollment and retention, and create a vision prospective students buy into.

469 is a scary number to me. Can the school break even financially with that enrollment?
It’s amazing to me the pass that Hanycz gets. If she were a man, she’d face harsher criticism.

Would love to get you on the record regarding what the goal should be. Like, which data point should we point to in 2-5-7 years to see whether things are better?

I've already said this. enrollment trending up, not down, revenue up, not down. endowment up, not down. Now...I recognize that has to be examined in comparison to other schools. Are we an A10 catholic school? We aren't in their ballpark with those numbers. We are closer to the Rosemonts and the Immaculatas with financial performance...and that's not good.

Actually, Joe...there is a poster on here who is on the Board of Trustees. I think rather than asking me what those metrics should be, maybe you should ask him, and what he saw in the metrics to approve her contract extension in 2019, when we've all seen those number here well documented. I just serve on an advisory board working with students and helping them with resume prep, mock interviews, and industry connections because a faculty member asked me a few years ago to help, and I have loyalty to the faculty. It's easy (and lazy) to ask me what those metrics should be, but I wasn't the one who renewed her contract. You have a direct connection to one who did....so.... maybe you should start there.

Enrollment, revenue, and endowment growth at a level the BoT deems appropriate and will hold the leadership accountable for meeting. New guy has publicly stated a goal of getting to 700 incoming qualified freshmen. I think that's a good goal we need to hit in 2-3 years. for sustainability. Alternatively, pivot and target 600 and supplement with cash cow certificate and graduate programs as alternative sources of revenue and brand that way.

Based on what empirical evidence? Admin tag team back at it. Prior administrations get bashed for previous decisions fairly frequently here. For questioning some decisions of Hanycz, Glitter gets accused of having a personal agenda. Others make excuses for her.

I'm not defending her nor am I responding because Joe responded. I read your statement and asked a legitimate question. And you fall back on a bullshit reply instead of answering the question. If you're going to make a statement like that, what's the empirical evidence to back it up?

Has anyone else seen the front page story in the "Inquirer" about the Volleyball team hiring a Title IX attorney to enact a lawsuit against La Salle?

As I read the story, after reinstating men's swimming, diving and water polo, the Title IX attorney retained by the women's volley ball team is taking the position that the University needs to add 145 women across all of the women's athletics teams in order to maintain the requisite gender equity vis-a-vis female versus male enrollment.
If men's baseball was also reinstated, this would give rise to the need for the University to add an additional 45 women to the women's athletic teams, beyond the above, i.e., 190 new female athletes total.

Wait, I missed the men's water polo is coming back? No, just read the swimming/diving reinstatement story, Men's water polo is still out.

I*'m trying to unpack who the progressives root for in this...the male attorney representing the female athletes vs. the female President. If La Salle is not Title IX compliant that’s a problem. Like a ‘fire someone’ problem being that it is a specific person’s job to be compliant. That said, I didn’t think that roster sizes were relevant…just ‘opportunity.’ www.ncaa.org/about/resources/inclusion/title-ix-frequently-asked-questions#exclude

Maybe the team can take a *lot* of walk-ons, then all identify as female. Legally, I believe that would now work.

Went 0-4 against the Hawks to close the season. Just needed to go 1-3 in those to make the tourney. A shame.
