I think the ratio of likes to posts is what is called a “vanity metric.” Unsure of where that takes us. Calling Carly Simon. You’re so vain. You probably think this post is about you. “The Warren Beatty of Explorertown” is something I’ll wear proudly.

You probably think this post is about you. “The Warren Beatty of Explorertown” is something I’ll wear proudly. Tell you what, you become the Warren Buffett of Explorertown instead and we'll all go through and like every post you've made here. I'm a 37 year old dinosaur as far as Twitter and staying up in different websites, so I don't know much about the barstool guy other than he goes around the country trying out different pizza spots. Quick summary: New media Howard Stern, but somehow even more lame in every possible way. I'm out on this board. I haven't been active around here in years, but popped up recently, I suppose, as a function of pandemic boredom. This place has devolved into one giant contest among a very small number of people to see who can gobble up the most oxygen by being the most passive aggressive smart ass. It's thoroughly embarrassing. I agree, we need more aggressive aggressiveness instead. MEET ME AT THE FLAGPOLE AT NOON GLITTER. BRING AN EASEL. (For legal reasons this is a joke, and I appreciate the higher quality posts lately.)On a side note, hypothetically how many students could the university actually enroll in a Freshman class, in its current state?

Dammit, I thought I quit this board.

Except for her taste in men (She did have a full academic ride to college and double majored in math and education...and has a Masters's in math education)

So we come after wives now on here? Classy...but Joe will allow it because you're his buddy. I'm fair game on here and I'm fine with that, but really? Jesus, relax. I wasn't "coming after wives." It was a wise-ass response to 23's wise-assed inference that certainly a La Salle grad couldn't be smart enough to have a kid who went to Villanova so it must be Mom's genes. It was actually a complement to you but you do you. I'm Joe's buddy? Really?

Your reply simply of "no" .. quite frankly...i took as "no, she isn't smart" Not really tongue in cheek with a one word answer to his question.

For the record, my apologies to Mrs. Glitter for any inference that she isn't smart. And also for the record, it was a two word answer.

Congrats to the Entire Glitter fam. A great day to celebrate! I was TIC knowing the VU elite factions. Does not define the school but they are there. Did not read bad intent to the other response so let’s all have a drink and say all good.

If we only had Stanford money ... In the original announcement in July, university leaders said that it was not sustainable to continue to support 36 athletic programs and that the programs would be disbanded after the 2020-21 academic year. The school called the decision a "last resort" and said it "comes down primarily to finances and competitive excellence." Those claims were largely debunked by 36 Sports Strong, which determined the cuts would save Stanford roughly $4.5 million a year, which equates to about 3% of the athletic department's budget. The 11 sports already had a combined $23 million endowment and, as of early last month, had received about $50 million in pledges to support the sports in the future. www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/31467258/with-new-optimism-based-new-circumstances-stanford-reverses-controversial-decision-eliminate-11-varsity-sports

Softball and an "o-for the season" but I couldn't be more proud of the team and coaching staff. They are suffered dramatic losses in personnel like Baseball. Their top two pitchers left for Bucknell and Marshall as well as a promising SOPH. They lost several position players too.
The season saw a lot of uncompetitive games early and some teams ran up the score (i.e. SJU) but as the season progressed they were a lot more competitive. The very last game of the season saw the team go into extra-inning trying for that elusive win. They unfortunately couldn't pull it out but it showed great resolve. I couldn't be more proud as I said.
Thanks ladies. Good Luck in the future.

Why don't you consider my comments last August. Looks like I was pretty prophetic. Gee, why do we have 580 students in 2021 versus 900+ in very recent years. Just got off a meeting. Incoming freshman enrollment right now, for next year - 469. <sarcasm coming> Gee...no one saw this coming <sarcasm off> Dean of Business School leaving and going to Villanova.

Out of curiosity, do you think this is Covid related, going virtual last year, or Colleen related? From where I sit, it looks to be a domino effect from covid, but you're much more connected to the school.

Out of curiosity, do you think this is Covid related, going virtual last year, or Colleen related? From where I sit, it looks to be a domino effect from covid, but you're much more connected to the school. The decision to be virtual (which was her decision). When you have high school seniors visiting a mostly empty campus in the fall during the admissions cycle, but going to other campuses with students and faculty there to speak with and actually get a feel for the culture and energy of the campus, it is not surprising that incoming enrollment suffers. Unfortunately that decision will be one with long-lasting financial effects. Considering a target of 700, this shortfall alone will cost about $10M in revenue this year.

Just thinking out loud... does anyone here have a reason why La Salle will exist in 5 years? Because I do not. La Salle serves a niche. Provides a private college education to a lot of local, low-income students. Is a good option for local nursing students. Is a good option for non-elite business students. If it is to compete with say, St. Joe's for students in the long term (and I"m longer on it than 5 years), it would probably require a campus move IMO.
