The basketball season is pretty much over for the men’s side of things so can we pivot to pressuring the AD for some sort of arena update?

How we've heard absolutely nothing is crazy to me Probably because it is never going to happen. Until I see it, I will never believe. This is like the 23rd time I have heard we are renovating the facility and it never happens.

my guess is if there is anything to the arena renovation talk, no announcement will be made until the new president is either announced or already on board.

HE has a lot of fundraising experience. I did hear today that we do NOT get the appreciated value of the Glaser donation. In other words...any amount it grew over the past 8 to 9 years doesn't matter. It is not in our assets yet and we don't get the investment income, just the original amount. This is probably part of the delay, along with heavy hitter donors waiting until the new President is named before writing their checks. A certain amount has to be raised before they "announce" the plans.

HE has a lot of fundraising experience. Where is this coming from? Typical La Salle, nothing on social media and not even a release on the school's website. That would have gotten me in trouble 20+ years ago when I worked there - the press release part, not the social media part

Not too excited. Didn't we know this? Some knew this, I wasn't aware that they've gone forward with the design process and nobody mentioned that on here as well, just that they were definitely going to spend the money in some renovation fashion. I think a lot of people that aren't connected which is most on this board are happy to see some transparency.

Cut and paste from my posting in March 2019:
The February 28 [2019] Collegian has an article about the Campus Master Plan, which will be presented to the BOT this month. Per the article: “The TruMark project will be broken into different parts. The court reconfiguration and renovation will come first, followed by the fieldhouse and ‘pub,’ instead of attacking the elements together.”
I assume this is “the next phase of the design process” alluded to in today’s email, but who knows what has happened in the past three years? Where’s Jellybean when we need him? I really miss that guy….

More details in the release would have been nice. I saw more in November that included everything from the track to the swimming pool. Maybe they make a category for this tomorrow in the DoG site.

Make it actually able to be used as a home track

I thought you were telling me that they were going to add something indoors. Torp tried that too. They wouldn't blow out the East side brick stands.

Personally, I'm MOST excited about the new furniture. The rest of that is like a non-announcement, announcement. As "Glitterbro #2" said, "More details in the release would have been nice."

It’s the next phase of arena design, not the next phase of arena change implementation It must begin in 2023 which was suspected and confirmed on the release yesterday so regardless we are close to having this happen.

I hear a lot of “the new president has fundraising experience” - ALL college/university and even private high school presidents have fund raising experience - it’s part of their job. The problem is, La Salle has a lot of high net worth alum (say in their 50s and 60s) - who have been ignored by the university for the last 30 or 40 years. They don’t have the connection to the place anymore - they may have been on campus 5 times since 1982. They’re not going to write a 7 figure check all of a sudden, they have their donation causes lined up.
There are exceptions, but you need A LOT of exceptions to raise that kind of money.

With the Glaser gift-was it a requirement that the physical reconfiguration of TGA and Trumark starts in 2023 in order to activate it? Or did La Salle have 10 years to get it started while coming up with the additional financing and it took us 9 to do so?

This is La Salle U not the HS (where he also was vey generous). So he put a time limit on the match and three ADs and two presidents have yet to ring the bell. So La Salle U
