(I'd be fine with it in the 3+ person units with a very well thought out moving policy that I would want zero part of developing.) The important part.

I live with 2 dogs and more than one person at a time (wife & daughter). What are you trying to say?

Waiting for BYU to announce that they will allow students to drink alcohol and caffeine on campus. The honor code will now be optional.

"Great news! President Colleen Hanycz has announced the Board of Trustees has approved an undergraduate tuition freeze for the 2016-17 academic year."

Meanwhile, just saw on Ch. 6, no mention of our freeze, they did say Penn and Villanova are raising their tuition next year. Penn to $66,000 and Nova to $62,000. Those numbers are crazy to me.

Know parents of two different HS students who got their financial aid packages from Drexel. So bad they will not be going there. Price is around $60,000.

Holy Family University ( HFU ) signs multi-faceted " dual enrollment / guaranteed acceptance " partnership agreement with the Bensalem School District, which includes : (1) ability to earn college credits at discount prices while still in high school; (2) guaranteed HFU acceptance provided the students meet certain specified criteria; (3) waiver of HFU application fees; and (4) eligibility for scholarships, etc.
[ Note : While similar to current and previous partnerships which La Salle and other local universities have entered into with certain of the local 2 year, junior ( "associates degree " ) colleges and community colleges, such as BCCC and MCCC, what is NEW here, IMO, is that Holy Family University is taking creative, imaginative, aggressive, proactive action to market HFU directly to high school upper classmen at the local School Districts in order to bolster / stimulate their future enrollment. ]
What is La Salle University waiting for ?

Many universities are actually rolling back and ending these relationships with community colleges and other feeder sources, finding after many years they are not worthwhile or cost-beneficial. The same is true for traditional satellite campuses. While the exposure is good, the cost to maintain these programs is far more costly than many of us would ever imagine.

First priority right now is to give the $250,000 donation back. After this season the school and the program don't deserve it. Glad you said this - didn't realize that was an option. Let's give the money that's designed to help us better compete back because Kovy's complaining we're a bad team, because that makes sense.

I don't think this impacts La Salle as much as you might think. Temple sure has reasons to send nasty notes to their Penn State friends, but La Salle isn't trying to fight for kids that are looking at public schools of Penn State's size.

DD : Sorry, but I strongly disagree. While what you say was once true, due to the declining number of high school graduates and the escalating costs of tuition, room & board, it is no longer the case. Today, as far as many if not most parents are concerned, it is largely about the $$$.

While what you say was once true, due to the declining number of high school graduates and the escalating costs of tuition, room & board, it is no longer the case. Today, as far as many if not most parents are concerned, it is largely about the $$$. I agree with the premise, yes. Money is a monumental factor. But if someone is looking for a cheaper state institution, I'm not sure La Salle was ever in the running to begin with because we'd be so far apart in money. Plus, while regionally in the same boat, I'm not sure La Salle wants to fight for students that are looking for that big-school feel you get in Penn State. I'm not sure that student is a good fit at La Salle. I've lost sight of a big factor though -- this is in response to Penn State receiving more deposits than anticipated, and now they're in a crunch for housing. So they're trying to alleviate this issue by convincing some of the kids to go to these smaller campuses, helping to solve the housing issue. You can't tell a kid he can't come to Penn State Main Campus after you sent him an acceptance letter, so it's a gambling game. And this time, they may have admitted too many. Otherwise, they might find themselves in a weird spot similar to SJU of Penna's hotel-turned-dormitory. This is probably a temporary thing, I'd guess. This all came after May 1st, D-Day for college decisions.

Why does everyone on this board specify Saint Joes as Saint Joes of Pennsylvania?

I think it was during the tourney of their perfect-ish season when a reporter referred to them as "St. Joseph's of Pennsylvania" and Martelli flipped out about how they're the only St. Joseph's.

My recollection for this board specifically is earliest "hate" threads, someone linked to them talking about how unique and iconic their brand is (including Shithead J. Mcflappybird) and then proceeded to post images of like 9 other US colleges named St. Joeseph's (of several states).
Thus (of PA) was born, since there are in fact so many, and we need to avoid confusion.
