Since we're throwing out pipe-dreams here....relocate to Immaculata. Target the growing Chester County population. Be more suburban than Villanova on a campus with 3x the acreage that La Salle has currently. Give me a 20 minute drive to games. The NEW home for Lasalle MIGHTY Explorers basketball......does it come with the Nuns? gomightymacs.com/sports/2014/9/18/GEN_0918145309

I can't see how La Salle could totally relocate to the Gwynedd campus. Where's the buyer for 20th and Olney? If a merger were to occur La Salle would likely keep both locations and try and determine the highest and best use for each campus. We're going to need a lot of shuttle bus drivers if this happens. I think the school could get creative over a 5-10 year transition. Keep the nursing program there and make it a medical campus. Consider merging or affiliating with Einstein/Jefferson. Start a medical school, including physician assistant and advanced nurse practitioner programs. As a physician of 25 years, I can tell you for certain more...many more...training programs are needed in this country -- we desperately need more physicians. An affiliation, or even a merger with Jefferson (if they'd be interested) would grant immediate credibility, expertise, and experience. Keep the townhouses and make them university owned housing for the medical and nursing students. Sell or lease the Gola to Central High. Or, continue to use it for games for La Salle. As an advanced medical campus, some buildings on campus could be eventually re-fitted for advanced care, or assisted living for patients. The medical campus could add physical and occupational training programs, along with speech therapy. A dental school could be considered. Masters programs for Jefferson/La Salle could remain on campus. The Science building could remain, utilized as a research facility. Obviously these are ambitious plans, however it is one example of what could be done with the campus, in a somewhat realistic manner.

big5, Your forward looking vision is exactly what is needed NOW! Look what St Joe’s has become due to their forward looking visionary leadership over the last 25 years as we have basically stagnated. St Joe’s possibly already moving to add or link with a medical school, they have everything in place.

Duquesne opens the doors on their new medical school this fall, joining Loyola Chicago, St. Louis, VCU, GW, and UMass as the A10 schools with a medical school attached to them.
