La Salle, as we speak, is presently in the midst of the Class of 2020 recruitment / acceptance time period. In order to remain competitive, why hasn't the University announced and broadly publicized something like an initial $12,500. across-the-board tuition reduction before now as a catalyst / stimulus to enrollment, as a number of other small, private liberal arts colleges and universities have already done this year ? How will the ultimate Fall, 2016 freshmen enrollment number compare to the requisite projected target number ? Timely action, it seems to me, is critical. Meanwhile ... Attachment Deleted

I know Joe Paterno from Penn State use to do this stuff. Fans came out in droves. Can't imagine this attracting many alumni.

I am a bit puzzled but when I do to the La Salle site and go to alumni all I get is the Christmas card and cannot locate the tour above. It should instantly pop up for those who may be interested.

Joe,
I understand but it would seem the only way I can see it is if I go to link. If I just go to the La Salle site I cannot locate it. It should be readily available for all to see.

I'm not sure how recently it was added, but it's now a prominent banner headline box on the lasalle.edu home page, and the 'Presidential Tour' is a selection option on the Alumni events page. Event times and locations are listed and registration is now open.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including Hanycz's desire to not go there.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including Hanycz's desire to not go there. It took you 10 days to come up with that?

This tour's first event was very well attended and an overall success. In addition to some usual faces, I also saw some alums I hadn't seen in some time. The outreach evidently is working.
In meeting @chanycz, I found her to be an incredibly gifted speaker and very enthusiastic and already IN TUNE with what the institution's immediate and long term needs are. I let her know that I thought her radio appearances and outreach events would be well received from alums. It's more than 24 hours after the event, and I still feel buzzed with excitement about the direction she'll be taking us in. She did have very specific goals outlined, and spoke about these from the standpoint of them getting done as soon as possible, which was refreshing. She demonstrated an important rapport with and mutual respect among the board, with whom she consults regularly. She also emphasized the role of the incoming VP of Admissions, which will determine our future trajectory.
Dr Hanycz described the ribbon cutting at the School of Business and for the majority of us who haven't been there, she encouraged us to come visit soon. She was most excited about the "LaSallian layout" which emphasizes such features as widely accessible faculty offices.
Dr Hanycz was also very receptive to individual questions. I asked her how the neighborhood was responding to La Salle's increasing footprint, as I know there had been some friction there 10 years ago when I was a student. She knew all about that history, and assured me that everywhere she turns she is getting the job done and working to regain the necessary support of the community.
