Wow, what a game. I don't see how there will be a better game in this tournament. I was pulling hard for Wichita to go the route. How awfully disappointing for them.
It's been said a number of times here - look at how hard it is to make the Sweet 16. A team that didn't lose a game all year fell short. It only emphasizes how special last year was for us.

Rumor has it that sometime in the next ten years one of Calipari shits players will graduate, I didn't say he was going to class just that one will actually stay the entire four years. College basketball although a great game has very little to do with college or education and as usual is all about the money. We just can't seem to save ourselves from ourselves.

Lionel's spot as #3 all-time scorer is safe. McDermott finishes his brilliant career as #5.
BTW, Dick Jerardi said years ago that there might never be another 3000 scorer. Never say Never Dick.

I am not a big fan of Roy Williams nor do I dislike him but he showed a lot of class at the end of the game yesterday against Iowa State. He didn't "go to the rule book" act that I have seen too many coaches (various sports I have coached) do. He listened. Didn't over-react. Took the news. Went to Hoiberg. Shook his hand and gave him a hug.

Attachment Deleteda few years ago who would have thought the Pac-12 would lead this list going into Round of 16? also - was the SEC underrated a bit? 7-0 so far, only 3 bids this year.

Anyone else really disliking these Shaka Smart to Marquette rumors? The fact that it was reported and then quashed makes me think he is padding his already exorbitant contract.

I'd agree, if Williams hadn't already made a seemingly weird choice to leave. Makes me fear Marquette is going to bid until they win.

What is going on at Marquette? They apparently have an interim AD and are in the process of changing Presidents too. I doubt Smart leaves Richmond for Milwaukee.

Shaka's from Wisconsin and I think his wife's from the Midwest, too. I think they're playing the hometown card, along with the doubling of a salary. And no one believes me when I say this but Milwaukee is a really awesome city.
I think he stays at VCU. That program is branded and was a fluke play from making it to the second round against a UCLA team they matched up really well with. They should make the NCAA Tournament every years when coming out of the A-10 and, if he's patient enough, might end up as a Big East coach sticking around there anyways. He and his wife are royalty there.

I wouldn't have believed you until I went to Madison last year and loved it. So now I believe you. And it would sort of make sense if Shaka was really waiting another school of his choosing out versus taking the first great offer (UCLA). Hope he doesn't go, wouldn't blame him one bit if he did.
