Anyone have anything to update for those of us who couldn't make the banquet regarding G? There was no announcements of any kind other than the mention of a commitment that they couldn't discuss, so no info on that either. No talk of a contract extension and nothing about an arena. G gave a nice talk. He also had all the players come up and talk about the one thing they loved about this year. Ramon was the last player up. G gave him a really nice intro and then busted on Ramon a little as being the best dressed player in attendance. Ramon had gold pants a blue sweater and a gold bow tie. Ramon's speech was long but very heartfelt. One other thing. G said he thinks Zack has another big leap of improvement left in him between now and next year.

Adrian Wojnarowski?@wojyahoonba3m If Rutgers-Jordan talks unravel, school is targeting LaSalle's John Giannini and Manhattan's Steve Masiello as candidates, source says
Jeff Borzello?@jeffborzello3m Look for John Giannini and Steve Masiello to be potential options if Rutgers/Jordan part ways.
Jeff Borzello?@jeffborzello11m Barring changes in negotiation process, sources are saying Eddie Jordan won't be going to Rutgers. Wonder if they part ways or work it out.
Let's hope Jordan takes the job or Masiello does.

Adrian Wojnarowski ?@wojyahoonba Still positive for Rutgers-Eddie Jordan deal: He flew from L.A. to N.J. this morning, source says, and will meet with RU president Thursday.

You would have to believe that G says to himself "Doctor John, I'd have to be a fool to take the Rutgers job and pass up on a chance for a NCAA title in 2013-14. Even if Dr. Denim doesn't give me everything I want, at least I will have better options after next season."

Mike profusely and thanked Brennan "... who has given me everything I have asked for".

Word is the deal is done. The press yesterday was probably Jordan's way of getting more money.

Now that this is settled, is there anyone worth poaching from Rutgers as the players continue to jump ship? Personally, I'm not so sure. I wouldn't want any of Rutgers' ex-guards, Eli Carter is all flash but shoots way too much and wouldn't fit with the chemistry of our team (also I think he's going to Buffalo to play for Bobby Hurley).
Kadeem Jack interests me though. He's a 6'9" forward from NY and has requested his release. Maybe worth kicking the tires, so long as he's a good fit.

We are probably not in the market for another transfer at this time. I believe the staff may bring in one more recruit from the high school route.

No inside info but I would be surprised if Bond came to La Salle. I know he is visiting Temple. G praised Jermaine Davis profusely at the banquet. He loves the kid and his potential. Feels he will get his feet wet next year like Zack did his FR season. Spoke to one of the players who said you just can move him down low. Unbelievable strength.

jellybean that's a bit disappointing to me. I would've loved to add Bond because any high school recruit we bring at this point will not be a contributor next season (just like a transfer, provided no hardship waiver). I'm not sure I'm exactly ecstatic about the comparisons to Zack his freshman year. Zack averaged roughly 1ppg and 2rpg (in about 10mpg). If Davis provides that AFTER a redshirt year, then to me it seems like a waste. I would expect at least double that production in 10-15mpg after a redshirt year.

He said a lot of nice things about Davis (and others) but I was really hoping for another impact player in two years. Bond could've been that guy.

I think a lot of people remember Bond from his HS days as a SF. In reality, he has outgrown that position and is a PF without a PF's game. He is a 5pt and 5reb type of guy in my opinion. In two years, he would be behind Steve and Jerrell. I don't see him taking meaningful minutes from either one of them. Davis in two years could be Bond production wise but with a higher ceiling.
G's philosophy seems to be grab a big raw HS kid redshirt him and take baby steps for a year. We are La Salle. We don't get Top 100 big guys ( Murray the exception).
