Bronny goes #55 to the Lakers in a surprise to nobody. That franchise is such a circus, they should play under a big red tent. Professional wrestling. Somebody should tell Jeanie Buss that winning teams don't build around keeping a 40 year old happy. It's professional wrestling.

Who cares? The 55th pick 99.9 percent of the time doesn’t lead to anything except a G-League contract. Bronnie’s not without talent. Sam Vecinie from The Athletic is probably the best draft guy and has Bronnie in this Top 75 players. He was higher headed into last year and then had a heart attack. Also, an agent’s job is to get a player into the best spot possible. This stuff is really common. Alex Sarr didn’t want to go to the Hawks so he didn’t work out for them. Does anyone care that Giannis’s brother is on the Bucks?

If the kid's last name isn't James, he's playing in the A10 next season. He's a 6'1 guard that doesn't play the point, and can't shoot.
He's not an NBA player. He wasn't an NBA player before the heart attack. Clutch strong armed this kid into the NBA, and to complete the dog and pony show, told other teams he was going to Australia if they picked him.
This isn't Griffey Jr. and the 89 Mariners. None of this is merit based or happenstance. This is the 40 year old GM, coach, 2nd best player on the team picking his head coach, supporting cast, and forcing his son into the organization. God forbid the man who makes 90 million pee year in endorsements ever takes a pay cut so his team can sign additional pieces to get him out of the play in tournament...Naaahhhh, King James would never do that.

Just came out he’s taking a paycut so they can sign a piece

In this case, LeBron joins a long line of parents who are blood blind. Many of us would do the same if we were in his position. Sadly, the ultimate fallout will likely be negative for them both unless Bronny becomes a much better player than expected.

Well, the Sixers just raced to the 3rd or 4th team in the East with this George signing. This is the final image of the Sixers for the rest of Embiid's career. I hope I'm eating crow.

What an incredibly stupid, STUPID move. Maybe Harden was right about Morey. Total waste of money. Now we can watch Embiid AND George both parked on IR during the year and quite possibly during the post season as well. I love how the Sixers sign another guy who disappears during the playoffs. Great job!

What’s the alternative that still gives them a chance at a title?

What’s the alternative that still gives them a chance at a title? Well the first alternative that they punted on was trading Embiid and getting a haul of draft picks back. That would have been the smart move. He's breaking down and it's only going to get worse. But pairing an aging Paul George who also is breaking down and will disappear in the playoffs is absolutely not the answer. They cleared cap space and that's the guy they want?

Great job! Paul George played 74 games last season. Would love to know the alternative that is better besides trading a top four player in the league. It's the best roster the Sixers have had in 40 years.

Joe, they are going to have to have 6 league minimum players on this roster to fit under this apron. Big 3s worked 8 years ago. It's about depth and role players now.
PG did play 75 games and stayed healthy last year. He averaged like 47 games per year in his time with the Clippers before that. Let's middle that at 61 games. Embiid will probably play 55 games.
At best, it's a 4 seed, at worst, play in territory. Which means a conference semifinal match up vs. Boston or a tough ass 1st round opponent. Yes, the team is better, but it's not closer to a championship.

Even if its the best roster they've had in 40 years, its still not a good roster. If you made a list of all the contenders in the east and wrote down their best player, Philadelphia looks good. Top two, really good. Top three, even better. Top four ... oh boy. Five ... Six ... Calling it a roster is even a little weird. The Celtics built a really great roster. The Sixers and Knicks are essentially doing the opposite of each other with Boston in the middle.

It was about depth this year. But it was about a great top two the year before. Boston’s roster is great, but they’re very dependent on their second best player staying healthy. We’ll see I guess, but Vegas doesn’t just lose money and the Sixers odds to win have doubled in 18 hours.
Saying at best a four seed is a joke. They were like two games from a four seed this year. Not having Deanthony Melton or Nico Batum doesn’t change that.

Oh, that’s a bad bet. They could win the east regular season but they won’t do shit in the playoffs. Maybe an “Eastern Conference Finalists” banner or something.
