I think the pace of NIL closings seem way down compared to last year. I believe the players have an outsized view of their value
I think its more of a chess match/waiting game more than anything. If it's more minutes you want, you need to see who lands where. More minutes=more dollars. Especially if you move up, or remain in a P5 conference.

The fact that none of our guys have committed yet makes me wonder if they are secondary choices at the bigger schools who contacted them. I sense a lot of portal entries including some of our guys are going to be disappointed.

Guys let’s turn down the temperature on the student athletes just a little hard to get upset with the "student athletes" from where I sit. A positive out of all this for me is that their life opportunities may be enhanced.

I mean this is all fine if you want to complain about the NCAA. But knocking players that wore La Salle's jersey for considering their options is something I want to avoid. Potential recruits and transfers are reading this board. It doesn't need to be rosy, but some of the rhetoric is too much IMO.

La Salle isn't in a position where it should be hoping any players leave. Again, in my opinion.

Presumably Rokas feels his minutes are about to decrease so he’s exploring options? would love to know why. even with demetrius coming in, imo, he was still going to play at least as many minutes as he did this past season and probably more assuming he continued to improve. the common assumption is that most of the international kids can't get nil deals unless they're grad students, but maybe there are loopholes out there that are just being figured out. the article linked below talks about that. www.si.com/fannation/name-image-likeness/news/nil-confusion-remains-for-international-athletes-noah9

It doesn't need to be rosy, but some of the rhetoric is too much IMO. i must have scrolled past these posts, but i don't recall seeing anyone on here knock the players for considering their options. pretty much everyone here understands that the first four guys who went into the portal are heading into their last season of eligibility and may be looking for better nil money. as a fan, i'm not happy about them looking to leave but i can't fault them and would never criticize them for it. as far as rokas is concerned, regardless of the reason, he has every right to see what's out there. maybe the lure of playing at a high major with all the bells and whistles that go with it is enough to make him leave. who knows.

Patriot League leads the way on retention. Pretty amazing They don't even give scholarships. Patriot League does give scholarships. Ivy doesn’t. That’s why kids are leaving the Ivy at a greater rate than the Patriot. Plus Ivy doesn’t allow graduate students to play to my knowledge. Patriot doesn’t allow grad transfers but I think allows kids who were already there but stayed at the same school for grad school to play

And yes, in the Ivy, you can only play 4 years. No redshirts for injuries.

Some schools in the Patriot are partially funded like Lehigh. Others like Lafayette are fully funded. My daughter is going to play DI field hockey at William & Mary and we were in discussions and had offers from multiple schools - Patriot included. These offers were not merit or economically-based. These were the athletic offers.

Having a discussion through DMs with another established poster here just reminded me of something I thought last week regarding some tweets that did not share and forgot to add... Some of these lists are silly and not close to reality. Rothstein is obviously not fact-checking the lists.
Another poster posted a tweet about the transfer portal and its reporting (and lack of due diligence). It's important for people to reread.

another one bite the dust. Not surprised. Wouldn't be surprised if another foreign player leaves....But wondering if we can bring in an effective team at this point. 7 in portal and only 3 replacements so far...

Why does someone go into the portal now versus 30 days ago?
Someone coming in to eat their minutes.
