Honest question here, as I know nothing about construction projects: Is there a reason the lights are left on 24/7?

Honest question here, as I know nothing about construction projects: Is there a reason the lights are left on 24/7? I've been wondering that as well. I think that goes back to my childhood. I'm 66 years-old and I can still hear my Mom yelling "Who left the lights on?". Her other favorite was "Were you raised in a barn? Shut the door after you!".

Damn, watching this renovation finally get done is just amazing to watch unfold.
Not going to lie, kinda feel like a real program now. Gola and that design always aggravated me and some others and made me feel we were a lesser program because of it. This isn't a 12,000 seat cavernous arena but it looks like a real arena and best of all it is ours. It is so refreshing watching La Salle get it right. Can't wait to watch a game when it is finished in there.

Looks like it might be closer to 2,700 seats. Got bored and tried to add up the number of seats based on the interactive seating chart. Obviously if there are seats they are not including in the chart, they won't be listed below but looks like there will be a big drop in the overall number of seats for a game.
Section # Seats 101 - 99 102 - 179 103 - 70 104 - 181 105 - 99 106 - 300 107 - 299 108 - 87 (looks like this section on the chart was missing 2 rows so I estimated and added them in) 109 - 142 110 - 179 111 - 142 112 - 87 113 - 315 114 - 316 Baseline E - 12 Baseline W - 12 Courtside A - 48 Courtside B N - 45 Courtside B S - 24 Suite - 51 Total - 2687

Why are some of the seats colored and some just grey? Is there significance to the color scheme?

I believe gray is student/season ticket purchased

The colored seats represent the different season ticket levels and pricing. The gray seats represent various things such as season tickets already purchased, student tickets (Sections 113 and 114), Visiting Team Allocation (parts of section 101 and 102), Spirit/Band Family (part of section 101), Coaches Comp Tickets (part of section 104), Player Guests (part of section 105), Media (section 108), Glaser Suite, etc.

Has the seating capacity for Glazer been announced? Drawing #38 ( BOT March, 2019 ) -- entitled " Gola Arena : Floor Level + Mezzanine " showed a proposed Total Seating capacity as of that time of 3, 394.

2700 is close to 25% smaller than Gola.

2700 is close to 25% smaller than Gola. Frankly speaking, I don't care if it's 3,300 or 2,700. The school doesn't sell out so if it's "only" 2,700 I like the fact that it will look more crowded and hopefully more intimidating to visiting schools. I'm just excited that we finally have something new, more modern and it doesn't look like a glorified HS gym.

it's a seating chart. they just used an old court graphic. whatever is at center court will also be facing the other direction so it's facing the camera bay at the top of section 110. based on the most recent published rendering on the arena renovation page, the big l with la salle across it will be at center court. i was hoping they'd find a way to combine that along with the retro explorer holding the flag but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I'm just excited that we finally have something new, more modern and it doesn't look like a glorified HS gym. when the renovation was first announced, i was told that they were hoping to get somewhere between 3,000 and 3,200 in capacity. in order to do that, they were going to have to use bench seating for most or all of the seats behind the baskets. at some point, a decision was apparently made to use chairback seating for the entire arena which resulted in the lower number. i really wanted the place to be at least 3k but like cal said, it's really not a big deal. all chairbacks will look much nicer and be much better for the paying customers. st joe's (pa) put all bench seating behind both their baskets and the space for each seat can barely accomodate anyone taller than 5'5". there is absolutely no room to move when those sections are full. and 2700 is 20.6% smaller than gola's current 3,400 capacity.

A10 used tor have an arena capacity minimum. It was more than 2,700. They must have waived that.
I agree with Cal, it doesn’t matter all that much for 500 less seats. Chairbacks definitely take up more room and less available seating. It makes the ticket tougher to get if we do get better as a program which would be kinda cool.
It also appears to seating comes up higher on the renderings on the side walls than what is actually happening.
One a final note - I hope if the Glaser Suite is facing the camera on TV, it comes across better than the renderings which looks kinda of weird on the designs. I really want the renovation to comes across great on TV.

It also appears to seating comes up higher on the renderings on the side walls than what is actually happening. at least on the sideline you can see in the renovation video feed, the sideline seating on the rendering and the seating chart match what is actually happening. there are three rows of permanent seats on the permanent bowl that have been installed already. in front of them will be five rows of retractables and two rows of floor seats.

What is the thinking for having partially retractable seating? I would presume it's so that the space could be more multipurpose?
