This is from the Olney Boys Twitter. Apparently there was a new rendering given on the ESPN+ broadcast. This is clean. Looks great.

Curious why we don't have these renderings displayed in the building or in the Hideaway pre-game. It would generate some buzz.

If this is what it ends up looking like...was worth the wait.

I hope the walls are painted the same color blue like the rendering. It makes everything look larger. Different color walls would make you eyes stop at the top of the bleachers.

I know this is a stupid and incredibly meaningless complaint but why do these keep having the wrong number of players on the court?

Seating capacity less than current config?

I'll reiterate my question and thought from the original design release.
Question, is this a removable floor or the one we currently have?
Thought, don't forget the little things. Where are the TV cameras going in this rendering? Would be on the right side of that image, but don't see anything carved out for that.

I hope the Umass banner is removed from the A10 school banners in the rendering when it’s released publicly.

I am shocked none has questioned whether or not this can get completed in the short time frame. I hope they have already amassed all the infrastructure and have a backup plan.

Plan B: cover the swimming pool and play games there for a season... and pray the floor is sturdy enough. Otherwise it would give a whole new meaning to "a floater down the lane!"

Ash has said there is enough time to pull all of this together in the offseason. This is his 1st test.
It is not like we are building this from the ground up. We are affixing bleachers to the wall, putting some fresh paint on things, installing a sound system, and possibly installing a new scoreboard? Was that confirmed? If so that can be done while the bleachers are being installed.
Seems to me all of this can be done by mid November if they have all the funding in place now.

A couple of minutes before the game started on Sunday, I thought they were getting a jump start on the renovations.

I was wondering about the cameras on Sunday while trying figure out how to rip out my seat Connie Mack style after the last game. There is still some structure on both sides where the track used to be (only really old guys like me would remember it and actually ran on it). The camera well would be on the left side of this rendering based on the positioning of the logo on the floor. It seems to me that it is possible that the area behind the Glaser suite is for cameras.

I REALLY hope the "Are you kidding me" screamer is given seats near wherever the broadcasters are sitting so I can capture the feel of being there for the games I cannot attend.

If you squint you can still see fans filing out along the floor with three minutes to go

Removeable like Wells Fargo has, where you can pick it up and store somewhere, then use the surface underneath for other things and not damage the 'game' court.

If this is what it ends up looking like...was worth the wait. Potential problem I have not heard discussed. Maybe it was, but I haven't heard. There will still be only one entrance to the arena proper. The stands on the far side will be filled by walking around the court. Could be a real problem of limited egress and exit for large crowd, if and when we have large crowd.

Apologies if this has been discussed over the months since the original announcement, but with the orientation of the court changing, will there still be room for practice courts at either end (as is the case now) and will this still be able to serve the students, i.e., intramurals, pick-up basketball, etc.?

I spoke with our IM director and he said they plan to have halfcourts but not fullcourts. We speculated this might mean 3 vs 3 games instead of a full 5 on 5. With current participation in IMs already being at a historic low, it seems like a liability but not a huge priority. I hope we get a phase 2 reno to address this like St Joe's is currently having on its athletic facilities.

I just can't see this getting done in time. ash puri has gone on the record multiple times that they are on schedule to be finished for the start of next season. he has even said it may be done by september. could it be delayed? sure, anytime you have a big construction project, things can happen but he's not going to say that now. i do know from sitting in gola this season that the hvac issue has definitely been fixed. for the first time in years, i haven't felt like i was sitting in a sauna for two hours. i also assume a lot of the electrical and other infrastructure improvements are either done or will be done prior to the heavy lifting. and if it is delayed, i feel pretty good that he already has a solid backup plan in place. so far, this guy seems as buttoned up as they come and he would not leave himself scrambling at the last minute. there are a number of solid options in the area should they need to move some of the out of conference games off-campus (palestra, jefferson, arcadia, mcgonigle hall). not ideal but it will work in the short term.
