are we sure that etienne is the committment? despite being highly rated out of prep school, his career stats over 3 seasons at ucla and depaul are 1.6 pts and 2.2 rbds and he could barely get on the floor last season for a bad depaul team. at this point, if he can provide some depth behind demetrius, that's great, but tweets i've seen implied this commit was from someone who would make a big impact. x.com/JonathanDunlea6/status/1809305336194691256?s=19

Not sure I’m always trusting of his takes either. Guess we will see when there is an announcement of any kind

I suspect Jon Dunne is over reacting to the commitment. There simply are not a lot of high impact players eligible to play next year out there and available. He is close to Safret and that may be clouding his ability to be objective.
Any chance we have as 2025 commitment? I tend to believe Etienne is the commitment more than anything. He is a back-up and not an impact recruit some to be floating out there.

It is a very sad situation when an injury really derails a career. The ACL injury really did a number on him. As you stated, the numbers speak for themselves.

I thought, his prep school promo videos were pretty impressive. the situation brings to mind Varrick Cutler from days gone by.

I believe he passed awhile back.

nice article. I remember his large knee brace due to his major knee injury that effected his jumping and mobility and I suspect led him from Maryland to La Salle.

Injuries just affect the taller dudes a lot more. Just more baggage to tend to. But as diehard mentioned before we are another year removed from surgery and that could help. Depth piece, maybe more. But I will ask around and see what I can find out. As said by explorer88 finding impact when school starts next month is just not happening.

Do we think La Salle came out ahead of the late portal movement? Is this better than Momo would have been? Probably tough to say but a nice scramble by the staff.

Think we are set up better with our bigs than we would have been had roster stayed the same.

Etienne is now listed on the LaSalle roster as a redshirt junior.

This is a nice pick up for us. An experienced big man might can give 15 minutes per game as a back up. Welcome to 20th and Olney Mac.

Think we are set up better with our bigs than we would have been had roster stayed the same. I am pretty excited about the potential each of our new "bigs" bring. Both projected as A10+ level Big talent at earlier points in their careers. Certainly we are looking at better possibilities than what we had. I am looking forward to seeing what they bring.

I feel that Rokas could help us with his outside shooting which will likely continue to get better but when I watched bigger stronger low post players put their shoulders into his chest and bury him on defense, I really missed Doucoure. I expect better low post defense from Lilley and Etienne and do feel we're much improved at center.
