Love this new format, and it wont be quite so exciting to play for 3rd place (or 5th place) on Saturday, but it still has been a good format for the first year. My one criticism: $150 per ticket to sit in the “La Salle section” for a 3rd place game on Saturday? That will probably be $350 with fees for my wife and I to attend. Throw in another 20 for parking. So almost 400 bucks for a basketball game? That’s going to be prohibitive for some fans. I'm setting the over/under at 12,000 fans...

They've went from the outhouse to the penthouse fairly quickly. Take a breath though. When they finish with 19 wins/A10 early exit/fire their coach we can mark how good their season was.

If you have a Facebook account, the comments about last night's game on the Villanova Basketball Facebook page are priceless. A number of people saying Neptune can't adjust in game (sounds like what we used to say about Ash). One guy said they should fire Neptune after this season and hire Lange.

I might be an outlier here, but I'm loving this new format. It instantly makes the big 5 more entertaining. Feels almost like group play in World Cup. The old way of each team playing each other during the season and the team with the best record was crowned champion didn't generate much excitement. The Saturday at Wells Fargo is a great way to cap it and makes it feel like a real tournament of schools.
The posters who complained about there being no guarantee of us playing Nova every year has to admit this format is more entertaining from a fan perspective and I bet the kids feel there is more juice to the BIG 5 too.

Back in the day, early 60s they actually had a best of the Big Five DH. They scheduled 2 games that people wanted to see play again. Schedules were more in the 22-24 game reg season. I think the NCAA participant didn't play.

Yeah it's breathed new life into it for sure. There's also been some good games and some upsets too, which has helped. The WFC isn't going to be near full on Saturday, and that's OK. It's going to take a while to gain its footing but thus far this revamp has been nearly universally praised from what I can tell. Let's not pretend La Salle v. Penn on Wednesday, January 10th had much juice to it years past simply because it was a Big 5 game. Adapt or Die.

Nova fans about explode. You think they were upset losing to the Hawks, if this score holds true the last 10 minutes it will be ten times worse.

Get us a nonleague game vs Nova, take Rosemont off the schedule, and I will support this tourney.

In the post game presser for Game 1, they made reference to the poor attendance for that game and asked how it could be fixed. He didn't have an answer...nor should he have. It was a dumb question for him.
