The way some Nova fans are acting now, the title of this thread could be Nova Under Uranus

Cam Whitmore entering the draft as expected. Predicted to be a Top 10 pick. Wonder how Neptune fares next year, nut at least he has Moore coming back for a 5th year.

I don't see it with Whitmore. Saw him play in high school. He wasn’t what he was in high school - the injury took a toll

Neptune just got some help www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/36186324/tj-bamba-plans-transfer-villanova-views-step-nbaFormer Washington State guard TJ Bamba, one of the top college basketball transfers this spring, has committed to play at Villanova next season, he told ESPN on Friday.
Bamba said he picked Villanova over a host of schools including Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia Tech, Auburn, North Carolina and St. John's.
"This gives me the best chance to reach my ultimate goal of playing in the NBA," Bamba said. "Players in my mold like Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo have gotten drafted from Villanova and proven to be valuable pieces. My hope is to follow in their footsteps."

If they start taking multiple transfers yeah they will have gone away from what they have done in the past

You ever hear of an incoming Nova transfer or recruit talk about the NBA? It doesn't happen. Plenty of Nova players get to the NBA, some even declare after their sophomore or junior years... but they don't openly talk about it before getting to Radnor.

All their recruits want to play in the NBA. It’s natural. I’m sure there was stuff before where guys talked about it. Right now it’s no big deal. However for them it becomes a problem if the player becomes a ball hog

Nova on a verge of losing to an Ivy League school Columbia night. Bad home loss for Nova, but Columbia is a pretty solid Basketball team.

WOW, Columbia beat Nova by 10. Neptune might well start cleaning his office, he is done at Nova.

Columbia hasn't had a wining record since 2015-16. For Nova to lose to them at home is ridiculous. Fans on the official Villanova Basketball page are calling for his head, and the guy who hired him has moved on. I'm guessing he's a goner if this team stays mediocre for the year.

For those too lazy to look up a box score… Brickus started, played 24 minutes, scored 4 points on 2/6 shooting w/ 8 assists.

nova also struggled against lafayette on monday, pulling away late to win by 12. i saw some of that game and jhamir looked good but that team is very average defensively. can't be giving up 90 pts to columbia. i did not see tonight's game.
jhamir made the right move for himself getting a great nil deal from them, but the downside is he's playing for some less than average coaches in neptune and howard.

Watched a bunch of the game. Jhamir looked fine, played hard...but he's not going to be able to score easily in Big East basketball and I think those limitations are going to bury him at some point. Hope I'm wrong.

I watched the game and was very much impressed by Columbia. Brickus may have trouble scoring in the Big East but he's the only real point guard they have so his minutes should be okay. Could be a long year for Nova. It's only one game but not sure the players are at the level they need to be in the Big East.

Neptune is 0-2 against the Ivy League in the past 2 seasons. That's just unacceptable for a Big East school. He's also 0-2 against the A10.
Let's hope their loss last night doesn't portend an Explorer loss to Cornell next week.

You have to wonder what the exception is with Neptune ... is he a good coach as evidenced at Fordham who simply needed more time at that level before moving up or was Fordham a fluke that got him a job way over his head? I lean (kinda strongly) the former, just because I don't know that you can fluke into success at Fordham, but I wonder if he'll get the chance to go back and then forward again to prove it.

Was a tongue-in-cheek reference about foreshadowing a local team losing to an Ivy League squad. I forgot to use sarcasm font. My son was at the game...he said a lot of students are hoping Neptune is gone by the start of next semester and thinks if they lose tonight to NJIT (Nova is a 22.5 pt favorite), he doesn't make it through the weekend.

That's a good question. I think I'd lean no here but for intangible reasons and if I were a fan of mid-major that was perennially bottom half of the conference I'd be on board. So like if I were a Belmont fan? Sign me up, I think its a great upside play.
