He is actually from Maryland and transferred to Goretti. I think Towson is closer to his home and probably George Mason as well. he's not from maryland. he's a philly kid. played at west catholic his freshman year, transferred to rock creek christian in md for his soph and junior years, and moved back to philly. Got it. Thanks for clarification. Didn't realize he played at West Catholic.

He's built like Zion Williamson. Took 2 1/2 minutes in that highlight clip before he took a jumpshot.

A quick way for the school to void his contract... It is not a small contract for Wichita State either...

For Williamson to choose. Buffalo over all the other schools, IMO,tells me their was lack of serious interest on there part. What Philly kid would want to spend his winters in tropical Buffalo? 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂😂

They're drafting their formal position letter on how not getting Williamson to commit is the 3rd biggest failing in the history of La Salle University and grounds for immediate termination of everyone above the adjunct professor level.

Buffalo is the choice for Zaakir Williamson. Up and coming program in an underrated laegue. Two years ago they were 32-4 and 16-2 in MAC. Beat Arizona State in first round of NCAA and lost to Finalist Texas Tech. Last year in a rebuilding year they went 20-12/11-7. Home attendance last year would have been a sellout at Gola. Yeah it's cold in Buffalo but having traveled there for more years than I can remember I can attest there is lots to do indoors on both sides of the border. Keep it clean. Bills tailgating is UNREAL.

Looks like Zaakir could have been a nice get. 3 star PF. Guy seems to be an Ed or Jerrell Wright type. Would have been a nice piece to add.... but our roster is looking pretty good as it currently stands. Looking forward, hopefully it won't be long.

Nah. Unlike the granting of your degree, it's not even Top 10 in the list of failings.

Surprised we are In his top 10 with one scholarship left. We need a power forward to replace JK. Someone who can rebound. That is where I would concentrate. just my opinion.

If you can get a good player that fits what you want to do, you get the piece and make it work. Understood. However you have no immediate ability to recruit your most important need. It also shows you are not secure with AH and JB place within the program. I will say with the way transfer rules are loosened Ash has the ability to get players quicker and have players leave quicker so perhaps that is playing into the thinking here. As I said I said in an earlier post, recruiting has totally changed so it requires a new way of handling your scholarships. Maybe Ash is ahead of the game here.

the need to add a big in this class isn't as critical as it was a few months ago. don't forget that this year is a free year of eligibility. players currently on the roster now have 6 years to complete 5 years of eligibility instead of the usual 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility.
so now all of a sudden, if the players choose to stay, la salle could have (including this season):
david beatty and scott spencer for two more seasons.
clifton moore and jared kimbrough for three more seasons. jack clark, brandon stone, christian ray, sherif kenney and ayinde hikim for four more seasons. tegra izay, anwar gill, jhamir brickus and derrius ward for five seasons.
ward had planned on redshirting but he may end up playing this year if needed since it's a free year.

This is some crazy stuff, as you mention creates a set of different considerations..... and potential variables.

Let's see how this year's team performs before anointing starters for next season. If this year goes something like 7-9 in Atlantic 10 and 6-4 OOC or worse that might signal a change toward getting younger...meaning roster turnover rather than roster retention. If this year's squad goes 9-7 in A-10 and 7-3 in OOC or better then we might want to continue relying more on upper-classmen.
