Ari Rosenfeld is on with Del and he talks about SJU recruiting for a system. Doesn't necessarily say that about La Salle.

If there's a big man that's a soph and he's being looked at by us or any mid-major program now, we probably have a slim to none chance. I think Brickus is the one he came to see tonight, I understand he was there to look at Brickus as well. I was just commenting on our chances about getting a young big. With that being said, I'm surprised he'd go for another PG 2 years straight. Wing forwards that can shoot and a big man. Easier said than done, but that's what we need.

Initially I thought brickus would be redundant of Ayinde, I think a little differently now after seeing our frosh play a little. I say this because
1) I don’t seek Kenney as a 1; IMO he is a 2
2) we need more than 1 PG
3) Ayinde is a distribute first, shoot second player whereas Brickus seems the opposite
4) having 2 slightly different PGS throws opponents off
5) both would improve by practicing against the other.

The question is would they both be happy with more limited minutes? They can;t be on the floor together (assuming Brickus can also play a 2G) because they are both very short. Big guards would kill them.

I think they could run 50 minutes including 10 minutes on the floor at the same time. Lefty righty running a weave and cutting would be interesting. Spread Clark , Spencer and Moore with them. Overall height would be fine and you could run a guard press that could be interesting with the trees behind them.

Good guards are a dime a dozen. Success in this sport requires an A+ front line with height. I don't see any highly rated low post recruiting prospects with height on our radar. We just lost our only big man, we didn't do our due diligence on Moustapha (another Desean Jackson?) and Moore is an unproven talent at this point. We're hurting in the low post. Why is most of our recruiting news about guards?
Our situation reminds me of response a coach gave once when asked why he recruited height over quickness - "As a game progresses, quick players get tired but tall players don't shrink".

Success in this sport requires an A+ front line with height. I What about Villanova’s two national championships makes this correct?

We can’t expect to compete for the 1991 national title without atleast one bruiser who can play with his back to the basket.

Busy day yesterday.
EDIT: I see where he is listed in articles as a Jr Class of 21. Also wondering if he is related to Brian Schaller '97 former star Baseball player and Sr. VP at Wawa?

i have to believe nick jourdain is a priority recruit. having a great season at covenant prep.
surprised at the interest in ayo-faleye. only has d-2 offers at this point but low d-1's are sniffing. most likely a plan b or c recruit.

Nick Jordain will be hard to get unless we have an “in” with him. He is getting high major looks. It is very difficult for La Salle to recruit kids like that in the Spring when high majors are looking for players. We need to find under-recruited players during the spring. They are out there but Ash needs to find them. He will also need to work the grad transfer market hard as well. I will say from what I have read Jordan is the exact type of player Ash would want given his skill set.

Ash has to leave home and search the deep South,Mid-West,Up North...You want to win and draw hometown fans get some further out of town kids who can't run home to their parents when the coaches are on your ass for more effort and discipline...Go get a kid from Alabama or Iowa Indiana...And when this program starts winning with players from a far and on front page and televised news reports locally and then every high school kid locally will want to make LA SALLE with it's New Facilities priority destination...Every Ranked top 25 teams i wonder how many guys are from that area is thier top player or players???

More than half of BYU’s roster is from Utah with only two kids from states that don’t border (and those two are from states two away).

Short guards are fine if they're Uber-athletic (or can shoot the lights out...like 45% from three lights out)

Ayo-faleye is just the type of kid Ash needs to recruit. Under the radar kids who can help us. Not sure if this young man is that type of player but Ash has to look at these kids and decide who to take a chance on. With cost of attendance and facility issues we aren't going to get the top players so grab a prospect and coach him up. Conor Gillespie and Steve Smith are two young men who weren't heavily recruited. Coaches outside of the Power 5 and big east have to take some risks.

A heart breaking story about the death of Delgreco Wilson's grandson, who was shot and killed in Philly. My deepest condolences to Mr. Wilson. Here's the story: delgrecowilson.com/2020/03/06/im-not-alright-they-killed-my-son/The reason I posted this under recruiting should be obvious once one reads the story. With LaSalle being an inner city school, it appears the odds of us recruiting top Philly kids may be slim. We may need a new, younger assistant coach with strong recruiting ties outside the area. Perhaps North Jersey, which is a hotbed of talent. I'm interested in what other board members think.

I can’t pretend to understand what it’s like to be a 17 year old black kid who grew up in a tough area in an inner-city, surrounded by violence, but if some of those kids want to get as far the hell away from the city (in this case Philly but it obviously applies to a lot of cities), and play college ball somewhere entirely different, I can absolutely understand why.

Del hinted of this on the St. Joe's board. This is very interesting and I would bet their is high interest from the Philly schools:
Evan Daniels @evandaniels · 9s Binghamton guard Sam Sessoms is in the NCAA Transfer Portal, per a source. Averaged 19.4 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 4.8 APG this past season.

Del posted on the SJU (Pa) board that Hysier Miller '21 6-2 from Neumann Goretti will visit La Salle when recruiting reopens. Also mentioned visits to VCU, Penn and Temple.
Del also sorry for your loss. Terrible. Thoughts and Prayers to you and your family.

Barry University is the school Shaq got a graduate degree from after leaving the NBA? I think they are both D2 schools. Averaging 6.5 points as a junior seems mildly unimpressive. But I guess we gotta trust the coaches here who (believe it or not) know more than anyone here.

I didn't see any stats for his junior year, but Hudl now has him listed as both a forward and center.
