If so who is the last opponent or are we only doing a 10 game nonconference schedule? 18 + 10 = 28. The only way to get from 28 up to 30 is to play in an exempt tournament. The last OOC game is Lafayette at Gola. There was a tentative schedule given out at the golf outing dinner last night.

Not many tournaments want a small school like La Salle in it La Salle has never had a problem getting invites to exempt tournaments. The reason they are not in one this year is because they used the money that usually goes towards the expenses of playing in an exempt tournament on the Prague trip instead.

However, the tournaments they have been selected for aren't highly sought after. Barclays was nice because of Virginia. Vanderbilt turned out to be a lot better despite us not winning a game but the Paradise Jam wasn't a great field. I am probably dreaming to big.

If anything G was ahead of the curve getting into a lot of them when he did.

Well the Paradise Jam and San Juan Shootout are not high profile tournaments IMO. Fields aren't historically great.
Charleston Classic I did forget about. That is one of the better tournaments. I think that was the first year with Aaric Murray. YIKES.

All I am hoping for is a trip to a Las Vegas tournament someday. Other than that, no real gripes with the schedule the last 5 years given the reality of scheduling college basketball games today. I also like that they spent the funds on an overseas trip instead of an exempt tournament.

I think that was the first year with Aaric Murray. YIKES. So you don't think quality teams want to play in the Paradise Jam? Look who has played in it since it started back in 2002 (and many of the Power 5 schools have played in it 2-3 times): Miami, Clemson, UAB, Michigan, Kansas State, Virginia Tech, BYU, Wichita State, Boston College, Arkansas, Saint Louis, St Bonaventure, Wisconsin, Georgia, Old Dominion, Alabama, Xavier, Villanova, Iowa, VCU, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Charlotte, Winthrop, Middle Tennessee, UConn, Southern Miss, Iona, Valparaiso, Purdue, Tennessee, Northern Iowa, St Joe's, DePaul, Alabama, Long Beach State, Marquette, Mississippi, Virginia, TCU, New Mexico, Wake Forest, George Mason, Maryland, Providence, Vanderbilt, LSU, Nevada, Weber State, Illinois State. La Salle did not play in the San Juan Shootout, they played in the Cancun Challenge. That tournament is split into upper and lower tiers. Some pretty good teams have played in the upper tier since it started in 2008: VCU, Vanderbilt, UCF, New Mexico, Kentucky, Virginia, Stanford, Cleveland State, Oral Roberts, Missouri, Providence, Wyoming, Illinois, Richmond, Illinois State, Rutgers, Wichita State, Iowa, DePaul, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Saint Louis, Old Dominion, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, Northern Iowa, Miami (OH). If you think La Salle should be getting into the Maui Classic or the Battle for Atlantis, it's not happening, but the exempt tournaments they've played in have been fine other than maybe that Hoop Group Phila Classic which each Big 5 team agreed to play in once before it fell apart. They were supposed to play in a new Las Vegas exempt tournament a couple years ago but the promoter screwed it up and by the time that happened, all the other exempt tournament fields were filled.

Relax...I literally said I was dreaming if I thought La Salle was getting into either of those high profile tournament.
Paradise Jam is not a high profile tournament. It used to be better but it isn't very good at all. It is a hit or miss.
We played in the San Juan Shootout back in 07. Cancun Challenge was with Aaric Murray. Mixed that up.
Overall as I said before I'm happy with La Salle's schedule. I don't have a problem with it.

UVA was in the top 4 for nearly the entire year.

We had a chance in that game too. Vandy turned out to be much better than anticipated too. Last year's schedule was great and never once did I have a problem with it.

Talk about understatement. The fact that somebody had us playing Rutgers first is irrelevant.

Didn't St. Joes play in the Maui Invitational about 5-6 years ago?

Can't say there won't be any opportunities to see the guys play in the OOC schedule. I don't think I've ever seen a La Salle schedule with so many home games in my life. The only true road game is at Nova - I don't count Penn b/c there will be plenty of tix available for La Salle fans I imagine.

The FGCU game being New Year's Eve immediately swayed my holiday travel plans. I hope to see an "Alumni Meet in Fort Myers for La Salle Basketball" ad in an upcoming alumni newsletter.

Nice scheduling coach Boehiem. We have a nonleague schedule that would make Notre Dame jealous...on a serious note though, I will be seeing the team play in Glassboro. I will say that if we're going to struggle this season, than this is a type of schedule to be expected. In the way of being creative, challenging the team, and getting them ready for the rigors of A10 play, it isn't up to par. However, with the roster turnover, and and basically nothing in the way of an experienced frontcourt, in addition to being thin at both guard positions due to the Lewis transfer, I'm not as salty on this schedule as I would be in other years.

Agreed. Given that 5 of our 8 players are pretty inexperienced, I'm fine letting them go out and just be more talented than other teams at first to get into the flow and gain confidence. Only concern here is if we have a bunch of home and homes that'll come due next year and possibly give us that dreaded BAD LOSS in OOC play.

Hofstra, Towson and Drexel are on the back end of our H&H. Not sure if we re-upped with any of them for 2 more years. I'd guess that Rider & Lafayatte are buy games so no return game next year.
Nova, Penn & FGCU will be home next year. Temple @ the Palestra again. No more Miami.
Next year's sched is looking pretty wide open for whatever G wants to do.
