Without full play-by-play notes for every game and practice in Prague, I don't feel that I can make an educated guess at the standings. This is where a thumbs down "dislike" button is sorely needed. or a sarcasm font

The classic thumbs down (although I thought MisterD's post was funny).

Interesting and good news. Is this our home game? Should be our home game, as I believe Temple was the host last year. Hopefully they return the favor

It looks like there is one OOC game not scheduled or announced. It would be nice if the team came out west of the Mississippi for those of us who are far from the fatherland.

Didn't Speedy play Phila. Textile as a legitimate game? How will this impact RPI?

Didn't Speedy play Phila. Textile as a legitimate game? How will this impact RPI? Yes Speedy had a season opener against Herb Magee and Textile. D-II and D-III don't count against RPI. BTW, love that people are thinking about next year's RPI on June 12 when it feels like 100 degrees.

I try not to be too much of an alarmist, but if that is in fact true, and we're playing Rowan, as a regular season game, ON THE ROAD, I really have to say I'm not all that happy about that.

We have a pretty good OOC schedule and the options are to bring in a low level team that we could always potentially lose to, pay some bigger name school to come to us or travel to a bigger name school. This avoids rpi risks, does not cost us any thing and is a good gesture given the connection between John, Rowan and the 20th anniversary.

This avoids rpi risks, does not cost us any thing and is a good gesture given the connection between John, Rowan and the 20th anniversary. What he said ^^^ I was hoping G would find a decent team to schedule for this last game, but this really isn't a bad alternative. 1) Instead of buying a game against a team with a 250+ RPI, playing a D-2 or D-3 team does not affect La Salle's RPI at all. It doesn't count. Most of the A10 teams have put a D-2 or D-3 team on their schedules over the past decade but this will be the first time since G's been here and it really is a unique circumstance. 2) Going into this season, G isn't 100% sure what he has, so if he brings in a team like Iona, he ends up buying them for $80k to $90k (yes, that's what these buy games cost these days) and could potentially take a double whammy with a loss. 3) The game will be at Rowan. So La Salle season ticket holders won't be forced to pay for this game. La Salle doesn't have to spend a dime other than for a bus to get them there. This will be a huge deal for Rowan and La Salle should get a lot of good press for agreeing to this.

So is the non conference schedule determined? It seems there is one game left to be finalize or do we know who that is?

I try not to be too much of an alarmist, but if that is in fact true, and we're playing Rowan, as a regular season game, ON THE ROAD, I really have to say I'm not all that happy about that. I mean, I live 10 minutes from Rowan, so there's that, but aside from baseball, softball, and the short-lived football program, I never thought LaSalle and Rowan would be competing against each other. Don't get me wrong, the NJAC is probably the best D3 conference in the country, across the board, but basketball wise, there's definitely a very noticeable difference between D3 hoops and D1 hoops. Rowan could compete with us on a baseball or softball field, and they'd probably take a game out of a 3 game series. As far as challenging the team and preparing it for A10 play, I don't see it. I make no bones about it, I've never been a fan of G's scheduling. This game takes the cake. I don't have a problem with playing Rowan, in Glassboro, IN AN EXHIBITION GAME! To waste a precious non league game, when we aren't playing in an exempt tournament is wrong. It's a wasted opportunity to get better.

Complaining about Rowan is totally fair, but if you don't like G's scheduling, you're either not paying attention or you're being unrealistic. Last year we were 4th in the A-10 in OOC SoS, the year before we were 2nd. Both years we were in the top 25% of the nation. There's nothing to complain about, recent history-wise.

The only bad opponents I see on the schedule with the exception of Rowan are Penn and Drexel. This Rowan thing is a one time thing to celebrate G's 20th year anniversary.
Nearly every other opponents will be towards the top of their conference or are in strong conferences. Towson and Rider are a little bit of wild cards but shouldn't be bad.
I get why you're not a fan of it but it is impossible given La Salle's facilities to do the schedule any better. Not many tournaments want a small school like La Salle in it and it is more than difficult to get any more P5 opponents than we already have. Which I am totally guessing is what you want to see.
It is a decent mix of solid mid major teams and strong teams in good conferences.

It's a nice honor for G. It also reminds high school coaches and players that G is a national champion. He would not have scheduled this game had it not been for them honoring him. This game will not make or break our season for sure. We need to get back to postseason play. G didn't capitalize on it last time we got there.

G has always scheduled strong, unassuming teams. Perception is not reality. Teams that win a lot of games, even from a weaker conference, are statistically good teams to play.
