Units are per game played until the Final Four.
The refs should have swallowed the whistle on that SMU goaltend on the UCLA 3. No way that ball even touches the rim. John Adams'(NCAA Director of Officiating) nose is getting longer.
Whatever happened to Anthony Lee who graduated from Temple and went to Ohio State as a 5th year senior? Is he hurt?

VCU guy called for Flagrant One on a layup. In real time you don't even see the contact to the head. Wow?

NCAA sanctions for UNC means they have to do Harvard players' homework before their next game
That was funnier when I thought Harvard was going to win...

I know we get on Doc for not worrying about offense, but to his credit a little bit, Utah is shutting down one of the top 3 or 4 offenses in the NCAA and it's going to mean a win for them... And death to my bracket... Again

La Sallian Business commercial on CBS @ 1038pm! One of two forces at work here, either new prez and Explorertown fan favorite (for now) prez is already directing some promotional ideas or the old regime figures, " hey, weren't we in that NCAA basketball bracket madness March tournament thingy a couple years ago? Looks like they're doing it again this year, we should put a commercial on at some point, maybe kids will think we are in it. Are we in it?"

Watching Wofford-Arkansas and every time they say "Neumann" I think they're talking to me. Then again, I'm pretty drunk.

John Adams'(NCAA Director of Officiating) nose is getting longer. Sucks but the rule as written was followed. It never says the ball must have gone in with certainty so we'll count it, nor does the rule only apply to certain times of the game, or when a team is up by too many for one basket to be consequential.

Not really much more you could ask for in a first day of the tournament. Further proving this is the greatest weekend in sports.

In non-#1/#16 and #2/#15 matchups this was the win margins of Day 1 games:
4, 1, 1, 8, 1, 19, 3(OT), 1(OT), 2, 7, 1, 3, 10
Really phenomenal day 1

I know and hear you. I saw the interview with John Adams where he says the ball has a chance to hit the rim or something like that. As my old eyes see it, that ball was off target and IMO wasn't hitting the rim. Give Credit to Larry Brown he handled it better than I would have during his press conference. I feel bad for the SMU kid and the team. I bet that next year that will be something they will review. Which brings me to another question, what is the 4th ref doing with his time who watches the monitors? Can 't he raise his hand to alert the on court guys? "Hey guys this is something we may want to take a look at?"

And technically Davidson committed goal-tending by touching the net on their "game-winner" against us. Why wasn't that called after they reviewed the play to check for the clock???

I am guessing that rule will be changed next year.

UC Irvine just tied up Louisville at the 1:00 mark. Not watching but I know this is their first visit to the tourney. Ndiaye chose Irvine because the coaches came to his aid and brought him under their wing when he was in the hospital getting a cancerous tumor removed. When the big names called he was already decided. The Anteaters are doing it for the little guys. Also, I really like Greg Marshall. I know that his team beat us down but I preferred that to a bigger name. Couldn't have asked to be matched up against anyone better. Also loved his quote after the win against Indiana. "I hope after Kansas we get to play the celtics and the lakers". Perennially screwed by the committee with seeding but will finally get his chance at the Jayhawks since Self would never schedule his neighbor OOC. They haven't played since'93. Also the shockers are 1-0 against the hawks in tournament history winning on a buzzer beater. Straight from Self: "This isn’t knocking Wichita State, but if it was best for our program, I would reach out to them about scheduling them. But it’s not.” Also interesting that they stopped playing the rivalry game under none other than Roy Williams. Larry Brown loved the rivalry before Wichita started sinking as a program. found the full article here: www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article14640722.html

A10 is shitting the bed. Davidson is getting rolled...reminds me of when GW used to get demolished in the 05-07 tournaments under Karl Hobbs. I didn't see Davidson losing like this.

All hopes rest on the shoulder of the play in team. Dayton taking flight for another run or will providence cool their jets?

Its embarrassing. The class of our conference is going to lose by 30 to a run of the mill Iowa team. After we see Harvard, Wofford, UC Irvine, all these low majors compete, and we lay an egg like this.

VCU is the class of our conference. They lost yesterday yeah, but it was a fine showing.
Down year for the A-10 sure, but getting at least the 3 in was big in my opinion.

Davidson lost its last 2 games, by a combined total of 53 points...not a pleasant way to end a season.
Does Dayton once again carry the flag? Or are we going 3 and out?
