Let's see Coach Miller vs. Coach Miller in the final! Or at the very least, both brothers in the final four.

Of course, Dayton has your heart at the moment.
I would like to see Wisconsin make it to the final 4. Bo Ryan is a Delaware Valley guy. He played at Chester High School. I believe he was a senior when Chester lost in the PIAA finals to Kenny Durrett and Schenley High School of Pittsburgh in 1966.
Wisconsin's style is a little 1950's.

Bernadette better be on the phone with them tomorrow telling them whatever they want to hear to make sure the Big lEast doesn't stand a chance to try and draw teams away. Could we be getting near the point where that doesn't happen because the Big East just can't stack up to the A10?

Could we be getting near the point where that doesn't happen because the Big East just can't stack up to the A10? The interesting ascept now regarding Dayton is that I believe they will actually lose money on an annual basis if they join NBE.. They have so much money now in NCAA credits (remember A-10 is 75/25) that I honestly believe giving up the NCAA credits, paying the exit fee and paying the entrance fee that it would not be the fiscally responsible decision..

That's good to hear. I think Joe's on the right track, but we might have to survive another couple offseasons before that's apparent from a prestige standpoint.

The Fox dollars (at least for now) are flowing and they are the puppet master calling the shots. In a way, the A10's success may be it's undoing. Will the waning cachet of the Big East name and rep be a temptation to A10 teams, particularly the Midwestern frontier? I am guessing that despite the outward proclamations by the BE administrators about keeping the league at it's current size being good from a basketball-sense, the Fox execs are going to be chomping at the bit to get the league to expand and try and destroy the competition by annexation. I hope that I am wrong and the A10 hangs together.

Kind of fun to note that we've already been raided once and the result was sending 6 out of our 13 teams to the tourney.

I was thinking the same thing and that it might be a nice off-season piece for that website of yours to debate... The points about the TV $ being much better for the BE is a valid one as it's essentially guaranteed money for the schools as opposed to relying on surprising runs (La Salle 2013, Dayton 2014) for windfall paydays. I personally believe the quality of basketball in the A10 is greater than the basketball in the Big East from top to bottom. No doubt the BE had the better top teams this season, but our 6th best team made the tournament, their 6th best team went nowhere. I actually think the 6 NCAA bids hurt the leagues chances for NIT bids b/c the conspiracy theorist in me says the powers that be at the NCAA wouldn't be able to stomach the thought of 8 teams from a "mid-major" playing in its post season, I think Richmond and SBU were worthy of playing.

The name, and the money are still big selling points for the Big East. Diminished? Sure. But still 2 important factors.

Gotta think that Xavier certainly doesn't want Dayton in the new Big East. And what does Dayton add in terms of TV, which is what drives the Big East? It's not in a big TV market and won't add a lot of new eyeballs.
St. Louis I can see bolting because of that and geography purposes.
I really hope neither team does, though. Dayton's one of the best programs in the country. They haven't gotten lucky in getting into the dance and/or doing anything until now. But they have such an insane following. Very glad to see them get a turn in the spotlight.

I believe if the media can bring this idea up and people across the country can talk about it, some of the top A10 schools will think twice before bolting for the Big East. I think both leagues have found their niche, if the Big East wants to become the Big East again they should go after UCONN and the AAC teams. The football programs in that conference can't be making money. Lets face it if they saw the big picture they would realize their BCS bid will probably be revoked in the next 10 years. Nobody cares about the Temple football program and I you see how Temple had to cut other sports to keep the football program going, its only going to get worst for Temple.

Wow, one horribly corrupt institution (Kentucky) beats another (Louisville). Just can't get excited over a game like this.
This is why my interest in the tournament always wanes as it goes on. I have never given a shit about state school vs. state school.

I like how people pick on calipari and pitino like they do things that roy williams, coach K, Boeheim, etc..... don't do. Has anyone read the A- paper that the UNC basketball player wrote. Its a non-story, not sure why, but nobody is looking at what kind of classes these kids are taking. So for me to get upset at the coaches is ridiculous. I thoroughly enjoyed both late night games. The kids in the Virginia Mich St game were playing some of the most intense defense I have seen this year.

I was "picking on" UK and Louisville because they happened to be playing in that particular game. You can lump all the other big-timers in there too, obviously (or not-so-obviously, apparently).

If you believe this tread (link below)... Following the Hawks/Flyers game at Barclays, Dayton President Dr. Daniel J. Curran entered the Hawks' locker room and flipped out over that awful non call. Curran was a long time member of the ruling regime at SJU (PA) Odd if true. Sore losers are bred on HH? mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=439&f=4542&t=12776434

Good season, Dayton bros. You did the A10 proud. Amen. Last year, the league put a team in the Sweet 16 (who was it? It'll come to me...) This year, Elite 8. Next year - let's keep it going!

Flyers come to Gola next year. Have a good returning club. Now they have the bulls eye on their back.

Really tough charging call at the end of az-wis. Lots of contact both ways. Shoulda let it go.
Sean Miller ... just can't root for the guy.
Crazy end with that review. Enough with these microscopic replay reviews! Make a call and live with it. These Zapruder-like reviews are not what are supposed to happen when replay was introduced.

Good point the tournament is so pure in the first few 2 rounds because you have small schools beating those bad State schools.... My bad I was just pointing out that you sound like a hater and your point was dumb. It Doesn't matter if you are a state school or a private school like Duke, cheating is cheating. Oh and those same schools that you couldn't watch this weekend play in the first couple rounds, but I hope you enjoyed playing video games in your basement instead of watching a thrilling Wisconsin Arizona game that went to OT.

For those who are into who reminds you of who. Arizona's Hollis-Jefferson...kind of reminds me of Chet "The Jet" Walker.
