And I don't mean who you have winning your bracket.
With our guys not dancing this year, and with my favorite local team (St. John's) also sitting this one out, I'm going with Manhattan. Christian Brothers school, a local team (for me), and they showed themselves to be a very solid team when we played them all those months ago.
As a 13 seed, maybe they'll catch lightning in a bottle and pull a few upsets like we did last year. Go Jaspers!

Every A-10 team, especially after Coach K's comments. Geez, Coach, you do realize that every team in the ACC has huge advantages over every team in the A-10 because of football money and the like? Screw him.
One team I'm pulling for runs contrary to that: Stephen F. Austin, who have lost twice all year. They might catch a banged up VCU on a bad night.

Unpopular, but Witchita State. I could go for some games late in the tourney with that added drama.

I'll be rooting for 5 of the 6 A-10 teams, particularly GW. Also Wichita State. Rooting against the Big East and ACC for the most part.
I'll re-evaluate my priorities after each round, but generally mostly for underdogs and "different" teams than usual.

In order ...
(1) Amida Brimah giving us our runner up prize and dominating St. Joseph's of PA and Villanova right out of the tourney
(2) In order: UMass, VCU, St. Louis, GW, Dayton
(3) Wichita State, both for the mid-major aspect and because they got completely F'ed by the committee
(4) Harvard
Always: Upsets

Rooting for all the A10 schools (yep even the hawks). I see 3 getting to second round (GW, VCU and SLU). I really want UMASS to face Duke. Rooting against ACC and BE except for Nova.
Seth Greenberg picked both hawks and flyers to pull upsets in first round. Could you freaking believe the uproar that would create in the country. The league that gets no respect except when they want to poach a school. The league you can't kill.
The game I am looking forward to if possible (in my bracket) is Louisville vs. Wichita State. Last year's defending champ against the undefeated mid-major. All the pressure to repeat vs all the pressure to go unbeaten and therefore win the title.
Coach I look forward to watching is Pitino. He's a sleaze bag but is a great coach and watch how his guys run to spots for 3's in transition. What coach do you like to see run his offense, defense or both?

I've done the numbers when arguing with a Big East fan (but never saved them) and we almost always outperform our seed rankings as a conference. I'm sure it helps that we get seeded 5 and under almost by rule, but that's how it goes.

Have to root for all of the A10 teams because it's good for the conference. Whoever is playing against Duke because of coach K's arrogance. He detested Dean Smith because of the deference he received from officials and the tournament selection committee yet he has failed to recognize that he has become Dean Smith to other coaches.

Delaware and Manhattan got screwed. Both are good enough to pull a first round upset but ended up drawing teams that are legitimate Final Four contenders. No way Michigan State and Louisville should be 4 seeds.

I am rooting for all A-10 teams.. yes, even the Jesuits down the road… I am for looking classy and confident, not insecure and petty..
We should be supporting the conference and the Big 5 at this point.. A rising tide lifts all boats.. A higher profile A-10 helps with recruiting and generates more cash (our school desperately needs any and all cash)..
Strangely enough.. I actually have 3 A-10 teams in the Sweet Sixteen this year… One that might be a surprise but I like their match ups for "the upsets" (as they are a good perimeter shooting team)...

If my choices are classy, confident and St. Joseph's of PA winning or insecure, petty and St. Joseph's of PA losing, I'm taking the latter every day of the week.

A higher profile A-10 helps with recruiting and generates more cash (our school desperately needs any and all cash).. I agree with that approach fully. I have enjoyed following all A10 teams and hope we can "stick together" and avoid conference hopping for bigger bucks. I could see any A10 team getting hot, but I'd really like to see St Louis extend out. I am a bit worried that VCU loses early and Shaka's comments are turned on him by the ACC shills at espn (Bilas, Greenberg, etc). I worry about this especially if Johnson cannot play. He provides instant offense and if you look at teams that achieved and teams that fell short this year, the ability to nail 3s and have one or more sharpshooters was critical. Looking beyond the East, I think Arizona will be fun to root for, with ex-Dukes, ex- Pitt and ex-Chester characters at the forefront. I hope Nova or Joes advance but worry about UNC blowing up everyone's East bracket.

I saw that bracket when they were announcing it and I thought "Holy sh!t, they're jobbing Wichita State." I would love to see them run wild to the national championship. That would be a big FU to the selection committee and all the supposedly elite conferences.

St. Joe's/Nova meeting in the second round will become one of the most fun and secretly awesome days in Philly sports history. I've got to go watch that out somewhere if it happens.
I'm so excited for the Phil Martelli "I wish we could play this at The Palestra!" puff piece coming up. HAHAHA LIKE THE GAMES AGAINST LA SALLE THIS YEAR!

It is perplexing. I would want a big five game in the 3rd round, but I don't think there is any chance of Martelli outcoaching UConn so I don't have to worry about it.

All the A10 teams. Wichita State because the Committee screwed them and still doesn't want a mid-major to win it all. ANY team playing Duke.

5 A10 teams, and Ohio State. OSU is playing Dayton, and since I am paying tuition for 2 at OSU, its a no brainer. Plus there is no player I love to watch more in CBB than Aaron Craft.

Generally the little guys. Gonzaga, Manhattan, Delaware, Wichita State, Mount St. Mary's, 4 of the A10 schools... As for SJU of Penna...I just don't know...

I will root for all the A10 teams to do as good as possible to make bucks for the conference. I like Mass., GW, Joe's a little but as far as the remaining teams I don't care other than the money. I think Wichita State is the best team just like last season when they got screwed by refs against Shiityville and should have won except for three very bad calls. Michigan State versus Wichita State with WS be crowned National Champion. WS has a great coach who really knows the game and gets the most from his players.

Expecting the total opposite with Wichita going out before the Elite 8 and all the dummies saying "if they were a real #1, they wouldn't of (sic) lost".

I totally agree they're a top 8 team and skate into the Elite 8 with fair seeding but they're being forced to go through the preseason concensus #1 and a top 10 team just to make that level. Can't even be 50/50 and through zero fault of their own.

Former Explorer Jeff Neubauer. Head Coach of Eastern Kentucky. He was on the Tim Brando radio show today and was terrific. Started off the interview speaking about the La Salle - Florida State game that Brando did from the Palestra. Lionel Simmons and George McCloud. Brando said it was one of the highlights in his broadcasting career. Jeff said he was shown a tape of that game on his official visit to La Salle. Spoke about the L-Train and the 30-2 team.
As for this year, Neubauer was really funny. He said that his team will put four and sometimes five shooters on the court. He wants to spread the floor and shoot 3's. His team is one of the top ten teams in the country shooting threes and one of the top ten in creating turnovers or steals. Brandon mentioned something about rebounding and Jeff said "...we are in the bottom ten in rebounding. We don't get any rebounds."
He said his team last year was pretty good and picked to win their conference. Much was expected and they came through with a NCAA bid and 24 win season.
Jeff said he looks for opponents that don't defend the 3 and look to be turnover prone. Never heard a coach say that before when looking for opponents but then again Jeff was a really good student at La Salle.

Wichita State. Their fans were super-friendly out in LA last year, both before and after the game.
They play a well-coached balanced game. If theses kids wore jersies with "Duke" or "Michigan St". on the front they'd get more respect.
Really hoping they beat up some teams again.
