Speaking of Brey....he was in Rehoboth at the end of June / beginning of July. The man is beloved in Delaware. He walks the boardwalk and has real conversations with the folks. I think the Hens play at ND this year. The man is as popular here as Joe Biden. (did I really say that?) ....I think the ND job is a little more high profile than DE.

Could help him establish his wins and his ability to succeed with reclamation projects. Probably a good risk on a one year, last chance deal.

I'm all for giving kids second chances but not at the expense of the rest of the team. Hurley would be risking blowing up his first season as a head coach. Why add someone who's proven to be a cancer on two teams over four years with no hint that he'll change. Read this sad article about the senior year of Deniz Kilici, a solid player who helped WVU win a lot of games and make the postseason his first three years there. Not hard to figure out who he's talking about. timeswv.com/wvu_sports/x765745595/HERTZEL-COLUMN-Turk-pulls-no-punches-in-interview

Because its a team looking at major turnover again regardless; something like 75% of their minutes last year either graduated or will be seniors so adding a flyer like Murray. Hurley can get a bridge year on the court while doing recruiting his own type of player off the court to fill future rosters.

I think this article speaks volumes to the corrosiveness to a team and program some guys can bring.

Sure, and in a different instance that kid would be slammed for daring to speak out about current/former teammates. Its all about the vantage point here.

Beyond that, I don't think anyone argues that Murray needed a change of scenery and had some growing up to do when he left La Salle. Do you really expect that to happen under Huggins? Thinking he'd be anything other than exactly the same is silly. Maybe a younger, former player like Hurley could help out. Who knows.

I'm hearing that Aaric will likely join Eustacy at Colorado St for one year....
Eustacy's a good coach... Wish Aaric the best of luck!!

Giannini, Huggins, Eustacy ... one of these coaches does not belong.

Good for him for graduating in 4 years and getting the opportunity. That being said, good for us for him moving on when he did.
Is Texas Southern the school from Necessary Roughness?

Is there a source for this yet? Rough year for the tigers last year. 1-13 OOC and 16-2 in the swac. They have no center so I would expect 30+ minutes per game. This was on their site prior to the Murray transfer.
“We feel really good about the players that we were able to sign,” said TSU head coach Mike Davis. We’re able to bring in two perimeter players out of Dallas Carter High School that we feel should be able to contribute immediately in Vicktor Arnick and Victor Haywood. We were also able to bring in a very athletic and talented Junior College player in Jose Rodriguez. When you look at this class there’s definitely a theme that you’ll see which is the fact that all of the young men we’ve signed are solid students and high character individuals.”
He seems to fit a need for the team but not the overall recruiting theme. Maybe this time transferring to a smaller school will give him a humble approach. I'm definitely interested to see how this works out. Mike Davis seems to have a similar career path as Murray as well.

There are several mid to low majors vying for Aaric's services this year... Buffalo, Colorado St and Louisiana Lafayette are still trying to get in the race....
Texas Southern is in Houston and the plan would be to place Aaric in John Lucas' training/treatment program.... An endorsement from Lucas could go a long way toward rehabilitating an image that has been severely tarnished...
Not done yet, but should be settled by early next week...

Yikes, really? Hopefully its more of the "stop smoking weed and take this seriously" program than something bigger.

If you take from bill Walton's case or many other succesful nba players, smoking weed would be a symptom to the actual issue at hand. In Walton's case wooden turned a blind eye ue to either Walton's crippling anxiety or knee problems depending on source. Imo, Let the kid have a little green stuff if he can get his attitude and actions right. I don't expect everyone to agree but suspect that the issues started before the puff puff pass.

One little problem with that...drug tests exist. He'll face those same issues upon entering the NBA

The PA should just trade weed testing for DUI punishments. Everyone wins except the biggest dummies.

www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/southland/2013/08/22/embattled-big-man-aaric-murray-picks-texas-southern-after-wvu-dismissal/2656103/I can't help but think about (what ocurrs to me as) delightful ironies found in the La Salle BBall program --Aaric Murray relationship/saga. I remember well the strident finger wagging by some messageboard posters during Murray's first and second years, particularly the first year he was here. It went something like this. La Salle as a rule is not blessed with this kind of talent level. This guy is special and here is our chance to finally get relevant, hitching our wagon to this guy. This coach better not blow it and he better seize the day and build a team around Murray because the "savior" will probably go pro after a year or so. We won't have him long! Delightful Irony 1- we went to the sweet 16 without needing this fellow. Delightful Irony 2- with all his challenges he has obtained a college degree. Delightful Irony 3- we did not have him long! oh an additional irony-Aaric is still kicking around college basketball!

Delightful Irony 2- with all his challenges he has obtained a college degree. Had class with the kid, twice. Unless something changes, and nothing about this transfer indicates it has, that degree will serve as nothing more than a wall decoration. I don't think I've ever seen anyone approach class with such an entitled, god's-gift-to-the-earth approach.
