I think it's CUSA, but regardless I remember thinking how weird it was. Sign me up for a 6am-er, I can't imagine how much fun I would have made that as a student.

Blinded by the Light... and I'm still whiffing on this one. You young bucks think Blinded by the Light was Manfred's biggest hit because Bruce covered it. Manfred's biggest hit was actually a cover of a song written by Bob Dylan. It was also covered over the years by The Ventures, The Hollies, and The Grateful Dead but Manfred's version was the only one that became a hit single in both the USA and the UK. Here is the opening verse: Come all without, come all within You'll not see nothing like the Mighty ........ If you can't figure it out now, you never will. Lol. I'm definitely not in the "young bucks" category anymore (unless you compare me to a 71er), so the minute I read Manfred Mann I knew the song and school that you were referring to in your post. They do have an old song with a title that has the word Hugg in it however, so in theory it could have been WVU as they were pretty lousy as well. The poll and The Mighty Quinn cinched it though. I never heard the Grateful Dead version of the song.

DJ Peterson's retweet just confirmed we have a game on 11/11 for the tipoff but source was still not sure of the opponent.

I saw that as well. Really hoping the full non-conference is announced sometime by the end of July. Would be good to have for planning purposes, and to just get a look at the full thing.

Aj Sumbry ?@aj35_playaz 12 Jul Found out I play my bro @kl23 on ESPN this year Khalid Lewis ?@kl23 12 Jul @aj35_playaz espn marathon .. That game gone pop
AJ Sumbry, Khalid Lewis' HS teammate at Trenton Catholic, is a freshman at Quinnipiac. The tip-off marathon is on Tuesday November 12th.
I believe the full OOC schedule has been finalized but they are probably holding off announcing it until ESPN puts out the press release about the Tip-Off Marathon.

Is that Quinnipiac game on the road though? No mention on Khalid's tweet where the game is at, but based on a couple other confirmed games that are part of the tipoff marathon (Western Ky @ Wichita St and Hartford @ Florida Gulf Coast), the Sweet 16 teams get the home game so hopefully that means it's at Gola.

Apparently what I had heard about the last OOC game being finalized was wrong. Just saw a tweet on the La Salle Athletics Twitter page that it will probably be a few more weeks before it comes out.

This is awesome. I wish we were playing the Johnnies but regardless, this is terrific news. Stony Brook is going to be a very good team. Hopefully the students get on board with a bus trip. I know I'll be there.

Solid doubleheader Other than ESPN formally announcing the Tip-Off Marathon field, I can't figure out what would be the delay in La Salle formally announcing their complete OOC schedule. Here it is as far as I can tell: Sat Nov 9th - Manhattan Tue Nov 12th - Quinnipiac (ESPN Tip-Off Marathon, site unknown) Sat Nov 16th - Siena (Homecoming) Tue Nov 19th - @ Penn State Fri Nov 22nd - Morgan State (Paradise Jam) Sat Nov 23rd or Sun Nov 24 - Vanderbilt or Providence (Paradise Jam) Mon Nov 25th - Maryland, Northern Iowa, Loyola Marymount, or Marist (Paradise Jam) Wed Dec 4th - Hartford Sat Dec 7th - Stony Brook (ECAC Holiday Festival, Madison Square Garden) Sun Dec 15th - @ Villanova Thu Dec 19th - Wagner Sun Dec 22nd - @ Miami Sat Jan 4th - @ Penn Sat Jan 18th - Temple

@kjmac, you beat me to the punch.
So thats it, I believe. Can't say I am disappointed but playing St. Johns or a better team in the Tip off Marathon would have been nice. Ton of exposure and a lot of tv time. A10 deal also to consider as well. Some great home games as well between Temple, VCU, SLU even URI, GW, Manhattan and Wagner who have high expectations.
Past two years we went 27-5 at home and lost 2 of those games by 1 point to Temple and UMass.
Home – GM, SLU, URI, VCU, DUQ, GW, SBU, SJU Away – DAY, FOR, UR, UM, DUQ, GW, SBU, SJU
Also, I heard that the game in the ESPN Tip off Marathon is at home. Makes sense seeing that every Sweet Sixteen team got the advantage of being home.

The Rangers are apparently home that night against the Devils. So I'm assuming these are early afternoon games?

@jonrothstein: La Salle's non BCS part of their non-conf schedule filled w high RPI mid-majors. Manhattan, Stony Brook, Wagner could all win their leagues.

Isn't homecoming the first weekend in November. Last year it was November 10 and the previous year it was that week as well. I was under the impression we played Manhattan during homecoming on November 9th.

11-3 in the Non-Conf and 10-6 in the A10 would look really nice on an NCAA resume.

Looks like I need to mark "watch everyone flip out over losing to a team WE SHOULD NEVER LOSE TO that will eventually help our RPI" on my calendar.

Those are actually good teams, but I think it's fair for us to expect to beat them.

Individually, sure. But logic would dictate 2-1 is more likely than 3-0, right?

(But really, that was just a throwaway joke. I'm hoping last year sets the fanbase as a whole above the "every loss is a tragedy" combined with "if we're favored, we should always win and if we're not, we should still win and if we don't its because someone sucks and not because the other team was simply better" routine.)

I think that is a little unfair to say. We barely found our way to the tournament. I for one was absolutely crushed when we lost to butler in the A10 tournament. I thought it was all over and already was accepting the NIT. I for one understand like a lot of ppl were going to have some bad games. However, seeing that were 27-5 at home in the past two seasons, I dont expect to lose to Hartford or Siena at home this year. Manhattan and Wagner are solid teams so that would be understandable. Also wouldn't be surprised to see us lose @ Miami or @ Penn State even though their not very good. The team is much deeper and experienced so I don't expect to lose to a CCS again. Nonetheless I expect this to be our best year. Just too many opportunities they can capitalize on.
