Mark Singelaisþ@MarkSingelais14m News conference called for Wednesday morning at Times Union Center regarding Siena basketball. D'Argenio, Mullen & arena officials there.
I hope this is for Siena's officially announcement to the A10 for 2014-15 season but wouldn't some national people pick up on it? I can't wait until we (Siena) join the A10!!!

Would they specify that it's about basketball if that was the case? Because really they'd be moving for every sport, so they may not say it's specifically about basketball.
I think it would be good though, and since that would give me another game I could get to very easily from where I live, I would welcome it.

I believe so. The guy's twitter who the Siena fan posted yesterday is all about that, so it seems to be what the presser was about.
Looks like a long-term commitment to the MAAC for Siena. Have to believe if the A-10 was interested they'd have jumped, but maybe used the threat of a move to leverage the tournament back into their area.

Mark Singelais?@marksingelais36s MAAC does have out clause with TU Center if Siena were to leave MAAC. Siena president Rev. Kevin Mullen said rumors are "speculative."
I hope explorerman is right and Siena is the next team in for 2014/2015... or even 2015/2016 season...there is an opt out option if the A10 calls. I know Siena wants to go to the A10 - we just need the invite which hopefully will come soon!

The A-10 wants you. Waiting until the other schools (STL and Dayton) give a notice to the commish. As I have mentioned, the A-10 has kept a very open relationship with all of its Presidents to the point where they feel comfortable about leaving. This has been brought to public by Andy Katz when the CAA was getting killed by the national media with its handling of Mason and ODU.

Anything else on A10 expansion?
Big East adding St. Louis and Dayton for next year?
Siena (and Charleston) headed to the A10 for 2014 or 2015?

Anything else on A10 expansion? Big East adding St. Louis and Dayton for next year? Siena (and Charleston) headed to the A10 for 2014 or 2015? Why would the A10 want Siena. They have been near bottom-feeders in their current conference for the past four years. MTS has sixteen posts on this board , all pumping Siena as a possibility for A10 me,bership. There are about ten schools with a better fit for A10

I think they'd be a good fit potentially. My feeling though is that the A10 will be set at 14 with Davidson unless more shoes drop. I could even live with 12 if they lost St. Louis and someone else but I do think 14 is the best number.
I am curious what your list of 10 better fits would look like though.

Yeah, MTS is a known Siena guy, but that's okay. I wouldn't expect us to announce any changes until we're impacted by BCS realignments. More reactionary than proactive, but that's the life of a mid-major conference.
