Seth Davis' PredictionsThought I would start a thread so we can track the so-called "experts" picks on the games. Feel free to add when you see others. Seth Davis is the first I have seen and takes the Shockers.

La Salle has to shoot well in this game or else it's over. I predict Galloway carries the team again with Garland and/or Duren providing support. Once they start hitting from 3 Jerrell Wright starts killing them inside. We have to challenge Wichita State to score at least 70 to win. Final: 72-68

From his FLA/FGCU preview: "Nobody wants this fairy tale to keep going more than I do..."
I really dislike that saying ("No body wants X to Y more than I") in all its applications.

Jeff Borzello and Jeff Goodman from CBS picked La Salle straight up. There's not many out there picking La Salle to win.

The Shockers can certainly rebound, but if we play tough D and continue to shoot the way we've been doing so far we can give them a hell of a game.
I want to see more finishing around the basket on easy layups. We left at least six gimme points on the board against Ole Miss. We're going to need those points tomorrow night.

On espn's college basketball podcast, Seth Greenberg picked Wichita St I think he and Digger Phelps have picked against La Salle every game. I think so too. Greenberg always brings up that Garland was one of his players and its hard to gauge what his feelings are on Ty/us. Andy Katz this week asked him what happened with him and Garland and Greenberg said they had too many guards at VT

Greenberg also said Garland's nickname at VT was "Buckets". I'm glad he didn't see what G saw in Ty

On espn's college basketball podcast, Seth Greenberg picked Wichita St He's a dunce. He's still smarting over 1) La Salle getting a bid over UVA and Maryland 2) Garland being a star on the national scene, when Greenberg wouldn't give Ty more than a few seconds of playing time at Va Tech. Greenberg coached for 23 years and has one NCAA win to show. Garland has played one semester outside of the Greenberg Hokie bubble and has three NCAA wins. Who do I put my money on? Duh!

Yea, the podcast is a good listen but Greenberg usually once a pod brings up that he was always on the bubble and feels slighted by the selection committee

CBS has been much, much higher on La Salle going back to the conference tournament, selection Sunday, and the first week of the tournament than ESPN. Rothstein especially has been objective and knowledgeable about La Salle basketball. ESPN never has the best in the business, and people only tune in to and therefore eat up whatever their jackass commentators say.

It's because Rothstein actually gets out there and watches us and other A10/mid major teams play in person. He works his tail off.

I think we catch Wichita State with some jet lag and beat them 74-63.

Guys. The Stars have aligned. The Explorers will win this game. The plague that has been sent upon our beloved program has been lifted. LaSalle is going to win a hard tough battle. As for Saturday....I will let you know if my Spiddy senses start tingling.

I also think we win this game. Something is at work here with this team.

Wichita State-74 La Salle-63
Assumes average outside shooting for La Salle and limited successful drives + WS offensive rebounds dominance. But if La Salle three point shooting approaches BSU game and Jerrell doesn't get in four trouble could be Elite Eight time.

I, too think the stars are aligned correctly in our favor. Ken Pomeroy, on the other hand, predicts that we lose 69-65 Wichita St. That's just fine with me because Mr. Pomeroy predicted we would lose in order to Boise St, Kansas St & Ole Miss. kenpom.com/team.php?team=La+SalleGO EXPLORERS!!!

I haven't made any predictions thus far and I'm not starting now. Didn't fill out a bracket either. I just want to see a damn good game, not least of all because I'm flying across the country to be there.

With Zack apparently able to contribute a few minutes I'll change prediction to WS-69 LaSalle-68.

Over the years being a big 5 fan I can no longer count the number of times that I've been afraid of a teams bigs. Nova used to be able to stagnate other teams bigs and La Salle has been able to this year. As long as the Explorers hit their shots and win the turnover batter they will win. La Salle 71 Wichita St. 64.

I'm not willing to make a predicition for fear of jinxing the Explorers, but Dick Vitale picked the Shockers on Sportscenter this morning. Seems like most the ESPN employees are going with Wichita State. Having Steve Zack back will help considering the Shockers are the 27th ranked rebounding team in the nation, but he may not see a lot of time if he isn't in shape, or if coach doesn't want to mess with the teams groove. Either way tonight at 10:17 pm is going to be awesome. Here's my preview of the game if anyone is interested: broadstbeat.blogspot.com/2013/03/la-salle-vs-wichita-state-preview.html

Vitale has been on the Shockers bandwagon since the tournament started, so I am not surprised by his prediction. I don't think he gets TruTV on his cable subscription either, so I don't think he's seen us play yet. Jon Rothstein predicted a LaSalle win, and he appears to have been up close with this team throughout the tournament. He also stated that we shouldn't be surprised if Rohan plays close to 20 minutes!
