Looks like a tough matchup tonight. Cornell had 22 wins last year and return 8+ players who can contribute. They were a top 10 effective field goal % team nationally last year and have shot the ball well this year. Good test for both teams. Good move by Dunph scheduling this.

Line is down to 3.5 on Draftkings.
Lunatic's play of the night
50 to win 301
Nova -2.5 La Salle -3.5 Knicks -3
The Tin Man makes his debut tonight. I expect him to be out of shape.
If Nova loses to St. Joes, Ashley Howard may be head coach of the Cats by Thanksgiving.
I expect La Salle to plow through their soft part of the schedule, which is all of this month. I expect that we start feeling like it's 05-06 in a couple of weeks, which is weird because there aren't any studs on this team. I like the early returns on the kid from Rider though.
La Salle should win, and we should cover as well.

La Salle should win, and we should cover as well. You're calling it a lock? No, I suggest you may be affected by conference bias. While Cornell is picked to finish fourth by coaches behind only Princeton, Yale and Brown, their roster is fully loaded, coming off a respectable NIT loss at Ohio State, they return a lot of offense from that team. In addition to their 22-8 record, they frequently eclipsed 80 pts last season, and are averaging 90.5 in their first two games this season. In their narrow win over Samford, they had five guys finish in double figures, and they played ten deep. Expect to see us play from behind and hopefully keep it within 6 at halftime, giving us a chance to pull within striking distance by the end of the game if we stay out of turnover trouble. Cornell does have a veteran edge over us, IMO.

Nothing is a lock. I don't use the term anymore and I never say guarantee either. The maturation and evolution of a 22 year degenerate. But I'm putting my money behind the Explorers.

A three game parlay of results that I personally would like to happen is just way too much to ask for. (How much would the $ change if you took those three as moneylines?)

La Salle is now -2.5 in at some books. KenPom has it 79-74. Looking at their KenPom profile, it looks like they have played fast, fouled a ton, and shoot alot of threes (54% of shots) but haven't made them (29%). They have rebounded well so far but not as well as La Salle and you would think La Salle would have the advantage inside and on the boards in this one. I'm just KenPom scouting though, not sure if anyone has actually watched them play this year. They were fun to watch last year.

(How much would the $ change if you took those three as moneylines?) +345 50 pays out 222.63 total And I left meat on the bone, with La Salle being down to -3. If this closes at -2.5, and I bet it at -3.5, I'm going to lose my shit with a 3 point win. I didn't expect all the money to come in on Cornell.

Ivy is very top heavy this year. Princeton might crack the Top 25 at some point this season. Xaverian Lee might end up in the NBA. Cornell and Yale are also very solid. Neither would not be last in the A-10.

A three game parlay of results that I personally would like to happen is just way too much to ask for. (How much would the $ change if you took those three as moneylines?) And I didn't bet it with any regards to fandom. Whether or not people on here hate it or not, if I had a read on a game against La Salle, I'd bet it just the same. I put 500 on Temple -3 over La Salle in January of 09. It was a Sunday night game at Gola, and I think it was Juan Fernandez's first game for Temple. I was making less than 40K per year at PNC Global Investments at the time. I was also drunk from watching football at Mad River Manayunk all day. But I sat in the Gola stands as cool as a cucumber, no worries. My point was that I loved the game and I risked waaayyy more than a responsible amount, considering I was bringing home like 1100 every 2 weeks. The bottom line, Nova needs the game more than St. Joes. Embiid is probably going to be on a minutes restriction and he's going to be out of shape. La Salle's first test will come against Temple on November 30th.... unless we're going to have a rough, 12 or 13 win season in 24-25.

I am not sure Nova needs the game more than St. Joe's. The Hawks need this game as well.
On another note, this team does not look like a 12-13 win team. We could be much better than that. Especially if Acker's upside is as high as many say and Dunphy taps into that. Look what he has done with McKeithan, albeit 2 games.

Got temple-drexel tonight too. don’t think anyone mentioned. Drexel beat a typically well-coached and NCAA tourney Colgate team.

Neptune is already cooked. Funniest possible result is them sneaking into the tourney, making a run then reupping him despite knowing its a mistake.

Cornell is no joke to defend. They are difficult. Skilled and good size across the floor.

I love how intentional the team is being. They recognize Cornell‘s weakness and defending us and they are continuing to attack. Lilley is an advantage player this game and is creating opportunities for everyone else.
