You aren't worried about them getting beaten up defensively like Brickus and Brantley used to get abused??? It could be that we have played weak opponents so far, and maybe this changes as we start to play average to above-average teams, but the eye test has Corey as a different animal when it comes to defense compared to Brantley. For as quick and scrappy, as Brantley was, Khalil was pretty easy to beat off the dribble, mainly due to poor angles. Corey's reading (and/or communication from the big) of the high pick and rolls have been much better and cleaner getting off the pick. He is playing above the pick at an above-average rate, too. Again, the sample size is only three games, and we have played against three below-average backcourts. Eric is a legit 6'2-6'3, so we pick up a few inches immediately over Brantley (not 6'1) and Brickus. Some coaches think Acker is actually quicker than Brantley, which is really saying something. Defense is funny. It is really an attitude thing and a team concept, and it feeds off of each other. The question around Acker, and I will be watching closely out of the gate, will be decision-making. There were a lot of TOs last year against low level competition that is only going to get tougher this year. Now, he was 17 years old last year, so there is certainly room to improve as he gets older and has more D1 minutes under his belt. Certainly, Fran will be on him like a dog on a bone if he makes repeated bad decisions with the ball. I have heard decision-making during his glowing offseason was not a concern but still something to keep an eye on. Sometimes guarding Patriot and Ivy teams are more difficult than guarding teams with guys who get it off the bounce. Patriot and Ivies tend to run more disciplined and elaborate stuff. I saw a PL and Ivy team play in person already this year and the schemes were much more complex than some teams who just ballscreen and play off that

We got a ton of practice playing against a press with Cornell too. Think they pressed the whole second half.

PS - traitor Brickus and Nova got their butts kicked by St Joe's tonight. Not sure if your comment about Brickus is sarcasm, but if not, please know you are a huge loser It was obviously sarcasm... amazing how this board can melt down. Wait for it... here comes another attack from you know who.
