No to him, but if it's Travis Ford vs Gallagher?

No to him, but if it's Travis Ford vs Gallagher? If it's between those two, is it time to shut the program down?

Travis Ford got fired after having made 4 straight A-10 semis before this season - for all of the G groupies that is 4 more than G made in his nearly 2 decades.

Travis Ford got fired after having made 4 straight A-10 semis before this season - for all of the G groupies that is 4 more than G made in his nearly 2 decades. And Dunphy has half as many A-10 Tourney wins in 2 seasons as G had in 13. At his current pace, Dunphy would have 19 1/2 wins in 13 seasons - though, admittedly, Dunphy might lose a step or two by his age 86 season…

Neptune should now be available. He was a decent A10 coach.

I’d be surprised if they fire Neptune. He was Jay’s guy. I think he has one more year.

No way they get rid of him after year 2. If stuff doesn't improve next year though, with the $3M in their NIL budget....he's likely gone.

There are also a ton of openings already and even though Villanova is a great job, they might want to have their pick of the litter next year from the coaching pool

Nova is professional basketball without tampering/fair play rules or a salary cap... it ain't college basketball. To go from the final 4 to consecutive NIT appearances, it's fireable, I'm sorry. This is the other side of the NIL/portal bullshit. Pretty soon, firing coaches mid season won't be controversial either (which I hate). This is now professional basketball.

If that’s turns out to be true, how soon will coaches start pulling the plug on underachieving NIL recipients?

It's completely on board. You wanna be paid, not compensated by a stipend, or make your own money with camps, endorsements, and appearances, BUT paid handsomely by collectives, well, if you have a down year, I'll see ya when I see ya. It's totally fair game to cut players or pull their money.
I didn't like it when players were run off 10-15 years ago, but it's a new world today. The bad is there with the good, part of being a professional.

Even though I'd sign up for 5 years of Martelli tomorrow (if Dunphy retired), I'd be like super surprised if it actually happened.
I was very surprised when we got Ashley Howard though. Dunph was a decision to kick the can down the road.

Dusty May from FAU to Michigan. Wonder what Phil does next. Well he’s done at Michigan. He said he is putting lines out but I still think he sticks to retiring.

Andy Enfield to SMU
If Dru Joyce gets Duquesne and Bronny doesn’t go pro I think it’s very possible Bronny goes to Duquesne
