Plenty of these guys were Christian Ray guys as well, Mik. You're not gonna convince them. They were probably TJ McConnell guys when he was with the Sixers.

He said he hopes and prays that the guy that averages 3 points and 2 rebounds doesn't test the portal. I hope he doesn’t leave too, but if Ryan Zan is testing the portal it’s to move down for more time. Classic chicken or the egg situation. Looking at it the other way, did Ryan Zan only average 3 points and 2 rebounds because ( perhaps much to his disappointment ) he only averaged 10.9 mpg of PT. Zan selflessly agreed to red shirt his first year for the Program's benefit while practicing every day with the team and playing in only the allowable / minimal number of OOC games in 2022 - 23. There are numerous posts on this Board by resident pundits expounding upon how much Jocius, Shepherd, Gill, Tunde, Marrero and others showed gradual improvement in their overall performance as the 2023-24 A-10 Conference basketball season progressed as a result of their increased PT at their respective positions. Let's consider how much Zan's development and improvement as a player may have been adversely impacted by his limited PT. It strikes me as truly ironic that had he been afforded more PT, he would probably have improved his overall game in all areas, his individual statistics very probably would have been significantly higher / greater in all areas, and as a smart, experienced 6'-7" D-1, A-10 player with 3 more years of eligibility, he might very well also be listed among those in the NCAA Transfer portal as we speak.

We’re going to agree to disagree. I don’t want to disparage a player and I won’t. I think he’s a good player. I just don’t think he’s the pillar he’s being painted to be.

here's my take on ryan zan. i think he's good enough to be a rotation player for us. there was a good reason he didn't get a lot of minutes this past season. he was our only backup for rokas and dunph could not really play both of them together for fear of both of them getting into foul trouble. apparently milos was not good enough to get on the floor even for a few minutes. to be fair to ryan, he should have been backing up tunde and shep and playing the 3 or 4 on both offense and defense. instead, he was on the low block going up against guys 3-4 inches taller and 40 lbs heavier than him. and he did a solid job of it. the same as shep did a solid job going up against 6'8", 240 lb power forwards. both guys were playing out of position and more than held their own.
so if the staff is able to add a solid low post guy who can defend and make layups, we would then have three low post guys in rokas, estratios and a portal transfer, thus allowing ryan to play his natural combo forward position. imo, he'll get more minutes and put up more numbers if that happens.

I wish we had 12 Ryan Zans. Need high motor, tough guys that want to be at La Salle. We would lose quite a bit. Zan is too small to play big minutes at this level. Kid battles and deserves some minutes but he cannot be on the floor too long before he would get exposed. He can't guard guys like Daron Holmes and others in this league for long periods of times. He is a 10-12 minute guy here I think. Which speaks to my point, he can compete playing in his right position and guarding players of similar size. he is being asked to guard bigger because in most instances our big plays incredibly soft. And you use Holmes as an example, LOL he is 6”10.

I liked Christian Ray but I think we know what he is…a solid role player for a Colonial Conference team - the Hens - that went 20-20 in conference in his 2 years as a starter.

he was fine! But losing him was not like losing Jhamir. Obviously? Yes obviously. So people hoping and praying that we don't lose the 8th guy in points and minutes on a sub .500, 10th in the league team seems silly...no? Don't want anyone to leave. But I'm not going to worry about Ryan Zan more than I am the other guys who I feel matter more.

No one suggested that Zan is more important to the team than the four in the portal. Yet you continue to argue against a point that was never made. Apparently it’s ok to hope he doesn’t leave but throwing prayer in there triggers the response.

Christian Ray was a nice player for Delaware. For La Salle, he's a good 7th or 8th man. People on here liked him as if he were an all A10 player. I'm sensing the same vibes with Zan.

Brickus ranked #33 on the list of best transfer portal per ESPN.. Jeff Borzello Cohen of UMASS on list too.. No other players listed on list or in honorable mention category cohen going for the big money. my prediction is notre dame. not sure if anyone else noticed, but before every foul shot, he does the sign of the cross. now we know what he was praying for. so much for my prediction. cohen is going to arkansas. musselman is out of his mind. i guess josh likes playing for crazy coaches.

I can see Brickus being put on the back burner by P5 schools because of his size. His list will be fluid for some time.

i just can't see him tolerating mccaffery. what happened to the other schools that contacted him. In my opinion, Tulane is the best fit for Brickus. Tulane is in P5 conference (AAC) and playing time will be no problem for Brickus. If the money right, Brickus will be a member of the Tulane Green Wave.

Brickus fits UVA who was previously mentioned- think Kehei Clark (spelling is off). But rumors are UVA doesn’t have much NIL and if he has a kid he should go for the NIL
