Turns out we actually could have weathered the first half slump. It was the beginning of the 2nd Half that killed us.

Let's not beat up on Brown. This game was lost before he missed that layup.

Amazing... we are down 9 and Brown cost us about 6 points between missed layups and frankly missed boxouts...
So sad.. Amazing how G handicaps this team

galloway needs to pitch over on the press... This is sad.. So disappointing after that run.. some basic decisions just handicapped this team...
No real press, G's horrible decision regarding Brown and the lack of finishing

Never got it closer than 8 (may have been 9 actually) and that was when Temple had the ball. Nice we didn't totally get run of the floor, but please no one make it seem like we were threatening at any point in that 2nd half.

Above everything else the defense was brutal tonight.
Temple showed what good ball movement can so. They deserve a lot of credit.

Nice we didn't totally get run of the floor, but please no one make it seem like we were threatening at any point in that 2nd half. How can you say that? We had a 18-4 run to make the game from 23 to 9? That is not threatening? Is that not a run? Then G puts in Brown and Jefferson goes crazy and the Temple lead is back to 14 points... And that is too much..

I guess we weren't threatening that is why Dunphy called 2 timeouts during that run..
Someone should tell G to get a real full court press

At no point were we a threat to win that game in the 2nd half. An 18-4 run means a lot loss when it starts from -23. If we had gotten in to 5 or 6, maybe, but 9 points with 8 or 9 minutes left, without the ball, is a threat to make it a close game, not a threat to actually win.

Here's the good news. We won't be going into Rhode Island with big heads. No let down at URI. Stay focused!

I didn't ever get the feeling we were a legitimate threat to come back tonight. Very disappointing. Once again, I have to admit, I give Giannini credit for doing all that he could tonight. I liked the full-court press he applied in the second half. It's a shame he had to give up size for rebounds in exchange for the guard play.

I'm glad we fought back, but there's no consolation. I feel like a Cubs fan.

Defensive rebounding was just abysmal. Hopefully they find a way to remedy that going forward.

Duren sitting in 1st half is the kiss of death for this team. EVERY game he has foul trouble, and its not many, we can't win. True tonight as ever.
Time to move on, would've been a huge step for the program to go 4-0 but let's not act like all is somehow lost here.
Temple was DESPERATE to win this game- that run killed any shot we could have hopes for but when Duren was in the game early everything was under control early and things were fine. That's the ball game pure and simple right there
I like what garland brings but he's not a replacement for Duren, when Garland and Galloway are on the floor together without Duren, bad things usually happen. He keeps things in check.
This sucks but need to move on to the next. We are back to an 11 seed instead of 10 but have plenty of opportunity left.
For the record - realtinerpi.com had this as a 10 pt victory for Temple. Lets not act like we should have dominated this team.

I will admit that I came into this evening in a bad mood for unrelated reasons, and hate Temple, so I almost certainly lost my composure in this thread and am overreacting. Just very disappointing.

Give Temple credit, they stomped us tonight. Zack and Wright couldn't get on the floor in the 2nd half because they were killing us defensively. This lead to Temple clobbering us with 2nd chance buckets with nobody able to rebound. Tough game to watch and makes the next three games must wins.

It wasn't a press... The extra defender NEVER came over to press the person who got the ball.. We did TWICE out of 25 "presses".. Funny part is the 2 times that we did bring the extra defender, we got 2 steals..

Brown wasn't killing us defensively? I mean he can't make a layup, rebound in play, rebound on free throw defense and can't close down a shooter... So I ask.. Wright couldn't do at least 1 of those?

Yeah, not that all the Bracketology stuff matters, but this game puts us out on most of them, and will until the SLU game. Ok, now THAT is an over reaction, you don't go from a10 seed to out with a rod loss at a top 50 opponent. Need to win the next 3 and all is well. Maybe get 1-1 in Brooklyn to solidify
