Its tunnel-visioned. Kids all over are transferring more regularly, in-season and out. We're just used to getting those kids who leave before New Years and not losing them.

Ed leaving showed me something was wrong. Will never understand this. You don't know why Ed left and, at the moment, Ed leaving was a bad decision FOR ED. It might play out better in the long run, but the kid has played the equivalent of 4.5 games this season. He's averaging less than seven minutes a game. And nobody knows WHY he left. He could have thought he was bigger time. Someone could have told him that. Or Ash could have told him that Clifton Moore and Jared Kimbrough were going to eat all of his minutes. Without that knowledge, let's not hold Ed going to Providence to ride the bench as some sort of data point. I believe the team and coaching staff were caught off guard by Ed's abrupt departure from the team.

I found a quote that Ed made at the time enlightening. I don't think I recall Ed's words exactly but they were very close to this: "some times your brothers are not your brothers." I have zero axe to grind with Ed, so this is not about making him look bad. But I clearly remember the gist of his statement. To me, he lost something (maybe faith in) with his team mates.

We shouldn't use Ed's decision as any kind of barometer.

I remember this also. Just isolating on this remark made. It would suggest to me that Ed was not feeling at home with his teammates.

We shouldn't use Ed's decision as any kind of barometer. We differ. I think Ed's remarks, and he is a SJP graduate, carry some weight.

Why are you invalidating Ed's feelings? Only whether or not we should use them as a barometer on Ash Howard. Come on. Ed played for him for almost 2 years. I'm thinking Ed's feelings on Ash hold more weight than what we "think" on here, having not interacted daily with Ash.
