Does anyone have any updates from the tournament? How was the attendance? Any additional news staffing or recruits.

Does anyone have any updates from the tournament? How was the attendance? Any additional news staffing or recruits. I saw some social media posts from people about it. Ironically members of the Board of Trustees, Ash, and other administrators were there all talking closely with each other and unmasked. That seems safe and a good example to show people when you've just touted closing for safety reasons, especially given that the majority of the attendees are in a target demographic that is more at risk with exposure to this. The idea of having a golf outing, when just a few days before members of the actual golf team found out they couldn't be on campus for the fall is an interesting look.

Was this an indoor or outdoor golf outing?

Was this an indoor or outdoor golf outing? Pictures I saw were people both indoors and outdoors. Ash and a BoT member shoulder-to-shoulder with others. Arms around each other. Not a single mask in sight. Even outdoors if less the 6 feet apart, masks would be required, right? Maybe La Salle had to go virtual because their own administrators and BoT members didn't want to wear masks, and it wasn't about the students.

Exhibit A - Board of Trustees Member (from Missouri..wonder if he quarantined for 14 days when arriving in the state as required by PA Dept of Health) and Ash.

I have to say on this one I kind of agree. The school (possibly) flouting the rules for a fundraiser is not a good look the week they announce classes won't resume in-person (a decision I agree with as discussed on other threads).
Again, don't know the full details are, but it's potentially not great.

Yup, I'm not going to condone that. Its irresponsible given what's going on in this country.

(Just to clarify, that's not "hey, they were careless indoors so we should hold class", its "calling off classes was the right move and what they were doing at the golf outing was stupid".)

Also, I don't want to hijack the initial post. If anyone has any actual updates from the tournament, regarding staffing, scheduling, roster, etc., please share if you'd like.

Ironic, that the kids are being the ones asked to make the sacrifices, when they aren't the ones at risk. It's time our adults acted like leaders, leading by example, if they want their words to mean anything to kids and young adults.

is every thread going to become a covid battleground? Yes. Many of us are waiting for the Providence numbers to rise so we can speculate if Ed Croswell got it and bump that thread up to 15 pages.

I was there and can tell you for sure that Coaches, admins, BoTs were masked up for most of the event; alums could decide what they wanted to do subject to the caveats below. Having a big donor and coach pose for a pic maskless doesn't bother me one bit, so please don't read too much into it.
By the way, this isn't NYC or Philly where things are far more restrictive, it's outdoors in Montgomery County, where you can have less than 250 outside without masks and with proper social distancing.
98% of the event was outside and if people went to an inside bar, they masked up. So it was totally proper all around and really well executed especially given the circumstances.

The tweet and other pictures I saw posted showed people standing close together and no masks. I do think they should consider that the public picture could have been used it as an opportunity to show either mask wearing or distancing. Perception matters.

Yes, perception. GlitterBro #2, I guess I shouldn't count on you to join my foursome in the Br Fitzgerald event next month? Any other takers, then??

When is our first game? Will there be an exhibition game this year? Nothing published but A10 said in July their plan was for basketball to proceed as planned. I guess it is dependent on which of our OOC opponents are still playing. Good news though...if this goes through we make the tournament:

Not to mention the coaches with incentive clauses in their contracts for making the tournament.
NIT organizers can't be happy with this.

eah, there's no reason to think a conference like the ACC proposing this is doing it for any reason that's not entirely self-serving. But the payment structure currently rewards wins, not ending position, right? Without modifying that, their intent would be kills, not byes.

Yeah I don’t know enough yet to see what the angle is, but I’m sure there is one.

It’s so stupid. They’re doing that so going forward there are 168 teams (Which already has some support) which would give the P5 teams even more monopoly of the field. P5 schools will continue to just play their own conference more and not play OOC so it’s harder to judge the mid majors until eventually the ACC has 12 teams in it, and the A10 only has the auto qualifier. Is all self fulfilling selfish BS that would destroy the fun of the tournament, which they are already well on their way to doing.
