I have never understood the idea of taking something that is so universally loved and saying "yeah let's screw with it." Simple formula, more games, mo money. Selling their souls since......like drugs, it can be habit forming.

Hello All - I am the referenced trustee in the photo. I am always amazed by the material and topics on here. Honestly. I went, yes from Missouri, because the program wanted to recognize me. I agreed to go not because I wanted to but for the good of the program - it was not an easy trip. I actually do not like recognition. To answer the points on risk, I have not been in any situations before the tournament that were risky - I manage this topic at my own company so I am not ignorant on it. Proper procedure was taken at the event. None of this will ever be enough for those that want to criticize, condemn and complain. I understand that - but I did want to answer and challenge all of you to support LaSalle, support athletics, support MBB now more than ever by opening your hearts and wallets and maybe limiting unnecessary negativity/hysterics. Getting on here and taking a dump on others is easy. Stepping up is harder. So I will close with my best wishes for all of you, your families and for good health of all. No one at the Golf outing got sick. Be well. Go Explorers!!

"Proper procedures were taken at the event". Just look at the masks and social distancing from some public social media posts. People seem close together. I'm glad Lee wasn't put at risk. Was the 14-day quarantine period imposed by the PA Health Department when travelling from Missouri followed? Did you take a plane where someone maybe have been asymptomatic near you unknowingly? Was the microphone sanitized between Kale and Ash using it? Sorry, but the optics of this less than a week after telling parents the school was going virtual for the fall is troubling. If I had just written a check to La Salle for room and board for $7,500 and was told it would be credited to my account for the spring because it was too unsafe to have students on campus, and saw this, I would be livid. We can't on one hand say closing school is the right approach, and on the other hand post images of leadership like shown below. It is inconsistent. This doesn't discount the good things you or any of the people there do for La Salle, but optics matter, and the optics of this make it seem like La Salle cares more about fundraising (as your message indicates) than education. You can't ask people to open their checkbooks for basketball while you are closing the classrooms for education.

So you dislike the optics/timing so much that you re-share them three weeks later and caption them with subtext shaming our program's biggest supporters? Because you thought this sort of image looks BAD for our university?
No, not buying this explanation. Feels like grinding axes. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion. But some time, maybe keep these thoughts inside.

But some time, maybe keep these thoughts inside. No subtext of shaming. If someone is shamed by the pictures and after publicly stating that it was completely safe and all protocols were followed and he took no risks, then I guess we have a difference of opinion. This thread was essentially done until he replied and made those claims. The pictures show that maybe things weren't as he said. But I get it...this forum is only a place to complain where 20 and 21 year olds make bad passes or poor shot selections, and not a place to criticize leadership for hypocrisy because they write big checks. (I'm also disappointed he can't spell "La Salle")

You're on an island.
I get it, you wanted school to reopen.
When it didn't, you saw an opportunity here to call some people hypocrites, because you felt a need to make your point. I don't appreciate that.
The athletes are still on campus, and could use any support, not just financial but also wishing everybody the best. Not tearing each other down, from a distance.

The athletes who play basketball are still on campus. That's it. Members of other athletic teams are not. This is a point of contention with parents of athletes on the Parent's facebook page. You have members of the golf team sitting home, while members of the administration golf at a university sponsored event. Women's crew team members are sitting home while St. Joe's crew team is tweeting pictures of them practicing on the water wearing masks.

This photo was posted today on Facebook at an event where, I suppose, some may have written big checks.

I must have missed the memo on this one. You can't? Why's that? Is this a GlitterBro #2 rule?
