So a 5 game increase in wins; losing a key player with a few games to go and all while the freshmen played significant minutes and he hasn't advanced this program much? I'd say you're not being very objective. Bonus: Per Kale, we beat the Hawks twice for the first time in the regular season for the first time this century. There is nothing tangible I can point to and say, we are good at this or that I can use to predict we are ascending. That is all. Not saying fire Ash just saying we really haven’t improved all that much since he came on board. I can’t take solace in sweating out a 1 point win to a 6 win team. I am not killing those that can. I just can’t. Yeah, let's just ignore that 5 win increase Mik because that's an inconvenient truth. Or the fact that the freshmen played so many minutes all year. I think those are both tangible points.

[quote source="/post/105756/thread" Gee whiz....you sure are a positive, upbeat kinda guy! 😁 You're right.....now that I think about it, this team reminds me of the 30-2 La Salle team. I'm sure we'll be close to that kind of won-loss record next year! 😁 no doubt in my mind that this douche is a troll st joe's (pa) fan.

The last play was not called for Daly and he was pissed about it. As well he should be.

UMass played a lot and in much better shape.

The path to NCAA tournament for us now looks like: Davidson --> Richmond --> St. Louis (if they beat Bonnies tonight and Rhody loses to UMass) or Rhode Island --> Dayton. We can win 4 in 4 against those teams, right?

Silver lining of the Ed transfer saga is Jared Kimbrough taking full advantage of his opportunity.

So a 5 game increase in wins; I'm not excited so much about this because we finished with fewer league wins, which is the yardstick by which we have to measure ourselves...not just total wins. Yeah, the A10 is improved over last year...BUT..we are still likely a 2-bid league...same as last year. The Athletic Department has said they want to stay in the A10 because it is a multi-bid league and gives us the best chance of going to the tournament over the MAAC. If that's the case, then we need to improve in the A10, not regress.

Oh and nice goal post move by bringing in UMass now. As you enjoy saying..."Beat it"

Happy you won more games but expected to win more A-10 games. So you were happy with the cupcakes we played but fell behind in the conference. May we can win a couple more games next year and be worse in the A-10 for you.

The season will be over in a few days and there’ll be time for a full analysis of the season and the programs trajectory. But I’m overall happy with a 15-15 season. When we went 9-3 in the Non-Con, yeah I was hoping for 8 or 9 A-10 wins to get us into the high teens. But we were also then 1-7 in the A-10 and finished 5-5.
This doesn’t automatically mean we should expect to improve another 5 games next year or that we definitely have the program head in the right direction for years to come. No one should be claiming that. But to act like this year was a negative, or that we’re somehow going backward is a little bizarre to me.

I didn’t ignore it. You just want me to add it to fit your narrative. So what if the freshman played a lot of minutes. What does that prove? UMass played a lot and in much better shape. Please see tangible points below 31st in the country in 3PT% defense. The defense is forcing turnovers on 20.5% of possessions, good for 79th in the country. Beatty, Spencer, Ray and Hikim improvement in offensive efficiency, all averaging more PPG, FG%, 3 PT % and more in conference play. Improving over the course of the season by nearly 50 places on Kenpom which is attributable the teams improvements. As far as I can see, there are only 3 glaring areas out of the 15+ advanced stats where we didn't improve or got worse. Free throw shooting, shot blocking and turnovers on offense, most of which are very common with an inexperienced team. The shot blocking should improve when Stone puts on some weight and Moore being eligible next season. So it isn't his narrative, its a narrative driven by stats.

Also, I would looooooove an alternate world where our best player scores a lot then pouts because he didn’t get the last shot at avoiding twenty-five (25) regular losses. I’m sure there would be tons of positives said about him here.

Q: What do you call St. Joseph’s of PA in a world where La Salle doesn’t exist?
A: A 23 loss regular season team.
