His decision to leave the team was his. You don't know that his decision to not play was. I guess, in your world, he should have waiting until March 15th to tell his coach he was going to transfer...playing for a team he knew he was going to leave as opposed to giving his coach the chance to make a decision that he felt was best for his program. We've traveled this circle a dozen times in 10 thread pages. A certain subset of people here want to yell at the kid for making a decision that was his to make as "SELFISH TO THE TEAM HE'S LEAVING WHAT A QUITTER." Another subset see this as not that big of a deal.

And, it is his right. And there could be good reasons for his leaving to me (e.g. mental health). We do not know the facts, I do know I would feel a heck of a lot better about today's game if he were playing. Joe, thanks for posting, I am glad his mom can support him. I would be worried if she didn't.

Can't believe we are on page 10 of this thread. Let it go. We have 2 capable big men the next 2 years to spell Ed. What's done is done. Ed wasn't going to make or break the program.

I don't see why this is so tough. People give their "two weeks" and get told to just head out all the time. All we're doing is saying he didn't necessarily quit on the team; he may have told Howard he was leaving after the year and Howard decided he'd rather give those minutes elsewhere. Or maybe he walked right off on the spot. But we don't know.

He shouldn’t be talking (and I’d argue thinking) about next season until this one is over.

Moderator... can we change the title to “Croswell is Transferring”? A lot of confusion here as it seems most people think the OP is talking about Brother Ed.

Here’s Ed’s mom. Lets just leave it at this. Disappointing that she didn't spell "La Salle" properly...

I was on campus yesterday working with students for 3 hours and picked up The Collegian. Not a mention at all of Ed in there, even in the write-up on the Bonnies game. I would have thought a story on one of your top players leaving would at least merit a sentence in The Collegian.
In any case...talking to current students there gives an interesting picture of things. The general consensus from current students: his choice to leave immediately, took teammates by surprise, felt nitpicked in practices by Ash, he quit on his teammates, don't understand why he left with a few games remaining. This seems to align with other things I've heard from people closer to it.

I spoke to students yesterday too. Every one of them said "I don't know" and I told them I respected they didn't just fill in the blanks to form their own narratives.

In all seriousness... I heard he left when he figured out La Salle has no plans on accepting a CBI or CIT invite.
