have they even named an interim athletic director? baptiste will be gone a month this thursday. Nothing listed on Athletics website or here: www.lasalle.edu/president/executive-cabinet/There is an interim head of enrollment listed, so there is precedent for listing interim people.

odd that currently this search firm is only showing two job openings (ad jobs at mount st mary's and elon) on their site. did la salle just finally get around to hiring them? and regarding no interim ad, bradshaw was named the interim ad when brennan left and eventually took the permanent position. you would think la salle would have named someone, especially with baptiste giving them around a month's notice before he left.

With the school year basically over, I don't think there needs to be a rush...but probably should have someone in place before summer.
This was the source but it is paywalled.

These search firms rarely get it right. This is wrong. And they just present options and give opinions...often facilitating the interviews. The ultimate choice is still the school's.

Is it really wrong though? What search firm recommendations were home runs the school couldn't have figured out who to interview or should have figured out who they should have interviewed that were great hires that the search firm mined? How about La Salle? They have used these firms in the past. Which one is the great hire the search firm found for them?

Gola Renos starting in the Fall regardless of VP level staff Our new VP of Advancement started in January and left in April. Not sure what the full scoop is there as his LinkedIn says he's currently looking for another opportunity, but that's a quick tenure for one of the top positions in the administration, and a critical role for getting donations for the arena project. from the December announcement about his hire: I am pleased to share that John J. Zabinski will be La Salle’s next Vice President of University Advancement, effective Jan. 3.
In his role, John will join Executive Cabinet and serve as the University’s chief development and alumni relations officer. He will provide vision, strategic leadership, and long-range and annual planning to reach our institutional advancement goals. John arrives at an auspicious time, as we turn our focus toward the University’s next strategic plan and a subsequent capital campaign that will follow.

Do most La Salle employees and alumni still have faith in President Allen? Just wandering what the temperature is on him now? He has been here a year now.
It still may be too early but is there anything positive in the past year he has done that can be shared here?

It still may be too early but is there anything positive in the past year he has done that can be shared here? He's extremely well liked and has been very well received by the La Salle community. I haven't even heard anything negative to date. He's been very transparent regarding what needs to be done, La Salle's new marketing campaign seems to be helping given recent enrollment numbers, renovated both the commuter lounge and treetops with more on the way, they're very close to hitting their 10 million dollar capital campaign goal, received multiple large grants from the state or city which has been an issue in the past and we are about to get a major renovation done at the Gola where unlike nearly every other AD he went on the record multiple times that it will get done starting this fall. Everyone in nearly every single industry is having a hiring problem right now, this isn't just a La Salle issue. We will see where the chips fall with the AD and multiple other VP positions but things have definitely improved.

That is key since they are the lifeblood of the institution and are more memorable than administrators. He has created some external partnerships in the city and is going after enrollment hard. He's talked about some other programs nd partnerships he wants to put in place as well. He's only been in role a year, but has faculty feeling better than in the past, but faces a tough hill to climb financially.

Dude has had his fair share of quick tenures in his career. Would have been a red flag in my book.

Dude has had his fair share of quick tenures in his career. Would have been a red flag in my book. A few quick tenures, but his higher education roles seemed to be longer term - 9 years at St. Joe's, 8.5 at Drexel,4.5 at Rowan. I figured that boded well for him staying here.

Just found out the Assistant VP in the University Advancement office - Dan Joyce - is also leaving. Been there since 2005. Good guy. Worked on me a few years back to up my donation and get more involved in some of the Alumni things.
That's the top two in University Advancement gone in a few weeks of each other.

Gola Renos starting in the Fall regardless of VP level staff When I got a call asking for a deposit on my season tickets I asked about the renovation and where the games would be if the renovations have started. I was told they need to hire an AD before anything is arranged. Not a good sign from my point of view.

Maybe they can hold the games at Gola while the construction is taking place. The noise and distractions could create a home court advantage. We survived watching games with face masks so we should be able to watch with construction helmets. Back in the day I took a licensing exam at Lu Lu Temple while they were doing construction on the roof. I passed. I would expect no less from the current group of Explorers.

If the renovations don’t happen I am done. Harsh or petty you can call it what you want. It is getting too hard investing in this school and program.
Combined that with this NIL nonsense…. I am getting too old and life is getting to short to do this any more.

But this seems to bring you so much joy … True, when there was hope it would get done. Now with time running out to use Glaser's funds we are getting close to finality. If La Salle doesn't do this with Glaser's available funds, they certainly are not doing it without those funds.

Supposedly we're getting a health and wellness and fitness center that is linked to the athletics facility

Renovations to Wister Hall are mentioned. Perhaps the games will be played there. I am old enough to remember playing intramural games there as well as attending concerts, tap off rallies and freshman basketball games.

I can even say I saw a LaSalle HS game there, probably early 60's......they saw the handwriting on the wall.....
