Sean Neal and Mills (or maybe Dunn) both were screaming about it. announcers didn't see them It is a reviewable call so why didn't he do something to push the issue with the refs? I beleive they said on the broadcast that the officials determined it was a change of posession and the shot clock was to be reset. "G" has not adjusted to losing Galloway. The team lost their go-to player and best shooter. He was replaced with Garland and Lewis, who cant shoot. Meanwhile, "G" does not adjust his system. This season is on "G".

This season is on "G". i am sure there is some truth to this but to me, this is more on the players. it is not like this is a team made up of freshman and sophmores. this is an experienced team and have been in G's system for 3-4 years. for them to play like they have on the road against the bonnies, GW and umass is so disappointing and frustrating. i mean by halftime you know the game is over (except bonnies but u knew it was over within 10 minutes left in the half). outside of duren, everyone has been a disappointment. we have no shooter. my frustration is on garland and mills. to be a senior and digress the way mills has, it is amazing. i think the VCU game destroyed what should have been a productive A-10 year. that was a W.

Totally agree. And the non-con was destroyed in similar fashion in the Manhattan game...equally devastating, and equally in hand at the end.

not saying I think this should or should not happen - but with the season starting to spiral (lost 4 of 5), any scenario where Dr. G is asked to leave or considers resigning himself if we finish about .500 overall (or worse)?
also food for thought - our only two losses at home this year were both in 2OT. I know St Louis is better than both VCU and Manhattan, especially defensively.. but I think this game will either be a blowout win for STL or a down to the wire all-or-nothing type of game for team's confidence/momentum in the season's final month. but playing with a sense of desparation does not seem to be in the repertoire this year.

blueandgold,
Don't know if you are are a troll or a legit fan, but do you honestly think LaSalle would terminate its basketball coach after just going to the Sweet 16? Who do you think La Salle is, (fill in you favorite NBA team). If you are a legit fan, think before posting such nonsense and if you are just a troll, get lost.

Not saying I think this should or should not happen, but should we just disband the basketball program? I mean, we made a lot of money last year so why not just sort of bank it for other stuff.

I'm sure "terms not disclosed" when his contract was extended/re-done back in the summer is largely to not publicize his salary info.. but who knows how long he's contractually obligated to be here. interesting that at first I did not give my opinion, and was immediately questioned about my fandom vs. being a "troll". I should point out that other than my opinion that Khalid Lewis should not be shooting the ball this year and focus on his plusses (dribbling, distributing, and vicious defense)... I was also the guy that suggested we could have a rough patch like the last 3 weeks and go on a tear Butler 2011 style (which everyone also scoffed at). I still actually think we have a shot at a run, but just need the team to start believing again.

What about G's stock? On the rise following the NIT then he was getting national attention following NCAA Sixteen.

G has not adjusted well to his talent this year. We run nothing on offense and G admitted as much in his interview with Joe. But in g's defense we can not shoot to save our lives. It is the perfect storm of mediocrity. At the risk of incurring the wrath of some of the dyed-in-the-wool, inveterate G apologists out there, judging by G's comparatively calm in-game and post-games demeanor of late ( " what you see on the court is pretty much what we are " ), is it conceivable that G himself has mentally disengaged from this team ( ie, subconsciously packed it in ) and is already thinking about next season's team ? IMO he has exhibited this symptomology before, specifically at about this point in the injury - plagued ( ie, Kimani Barrett and Yves Mekongo ) 2009 - 10 season when he sat back and allowed Ruben Guillandeax to play schoolyard and do pretty much whatever he wanted on the court regardless of the play that was being called, and, once again, at about this point in the following disastrous 2010 - 11 ( Aaric Murray, Matt Lopez, Terrell Williams - plagued ) season.

I wouldn't go as far as "packing it in" but I don't think it's a stretch to say that the season has taken a toll on all parties, and it's beginning to show.

I think you're confusing two different seasons. Ruben was the first major injury in 2009-10, he got the medical redshirt and then did whatever he wanted offensively the following year. Both were tough to watch.

Or, more possibly, G becomes less unhinged when he has players he trusts simply not executing versus having guys unable or unwilling to play his system. You can't scream the ball into the hoop.

This risks people saying "so what?", BUT the box score shows Zack with zero blocks when I saw at least two.

Speaking of the box score. We were outrebounded by 2, they had one more TO than us. We had 16 points off TOs as compared to thir 12. The real killer was the defense or lack thereof. We shot 39.7% as compared to a season average of 41.3. However they shot 53.3 versus our defense average of 43.2. The only other team to shoot over 50% against was GW on their floor. All in all a perfect, below average point production and below average defense but you need to give UMass their props.
