I feel like posting in the delay thread warning them to bring their barf bags, but guessing that's a little too obvious. Yeah, please don't do that. Here's what I think will happen: They will follow until that huge drought in the first half puts us down 19. Then they'll all just come on here to see if it gets better in the 2nd half, and when they see it doesn't, they'll all just saw screw it and stop watching. And I don't blame them.

I am scratching my head as to how the hell we beat this team the first time.

Of course 64 if they go 10-6 that would only give us 18 wins. I expect team to win two other games in post season play.

You guys should probably just flick over to the Rangers game. Its not even a fun game or well played, and the ice sucks, but its infinitely better than what this looks like.

I don't think we could beat George Mason or Fordham right now. G has got this team in such a funk... it is downright scary.

I'd like to know why Lonergan is leaving his starters in so long.

Final. GW edges La Salle 69-47.
I'd like to invite my friend Jay Sherman to give his review of the game film:

I hate the 1-3-1 defense. It is like the trap in hockey. Very frustrating. Who wouldn't play that against us? Force us to shoot out of it, god knows we won't. Do we break 50? Nah. 47. I don't remember the last time we scored less than that.

so - 11-9. 3-3 in conference. will Duquesne even be a confidence-builder (assuming our team ekes out a W at home, of course)? especially then going on the road against UMass (about to lose at Bonnies and quite possibly slide out of the Top 25 this week) and then hosting St Louis (that one could be real ugly). then finally a week off before hosting St. Joe's. we could be 12-11, 4-5 going into that game. there isn't even just one or two issues here.

Haven't read the board tonight but I can guess that there is a lot of anguish going on here. Whenever I think that the team can't get any worse, they play a game like the one tonight. You have to wonder how this team beat GW last time. Observations, La Salle is not a very good team. They lack offensive balance, They seem to have no game plan. Get beaten by teams that are bigger than them. Zack and Wright are very inconsistent. Mills, Lewis, Brown and DJ provide no offense. This allows the other team to key on Duren and Garland. Plus, I have to say that I've always had the feeling that Giannini is not a great coach. I know that I am going to get blasted for saying that since he is worshiped on this board. I think he is a good recruiter, especially at a small, urban, Catholic school with so-so facilities. But he seems to get out-coached often. Maybe it's because his players don't execute the game plan. I do have to say that the officiating tonight was plan bad. It's never fun to watch a game where the refs are foul happy as they were tonight especially when the calls are so one sided. Several replays so that some of the calls were phantom calls. Maybe the problem this year is that there were such high expectations. If the team was expected to do what they have done for most of the last twenty years it wouldn't be so bad. Having so many games on television makes it even worse. I live in the mid-west. Usually in the past I would see 1 or 2 games a year on television. Now I get to see them all the time. Hard to take.

Just my opinion but Lewis is not the player I expected, Mills and Garland have not improved, Duren excluding injury was what I expected (good not great), Wright never developed anything outside of 5 feet from the basket, Davis is not A10 level player and never will be, Zack has been more than I expected, Peterson has been OK and Brown has been a little better than I expected. Lewis - didn't know what to expect but thought 5ppg wasn't asking for too much; disappointment to me Mills - plays scared more than I like; definitely surprised by his penchant to disappear for long stretches and inconsistent play Garland - hoped he'd make the jump to be the guy at crunch time but he's a complimentary player and nothing wrong with that Wright still hasn't developed in my eyes either but he's still unstoppable in the low post when he gets position and able to beat the double team Davis - agree hes not an A10 player...redshirt a year and plays like crap? Zack - progressively improves each year; big and pleasant surprise Peterson - crafty player who doesn't show it plays with no confidence

This is the same group of guys and the same coach that went to the NIT and the NCAA. The key that is missing is Ramone and I do not mean his scoring. Tyreek is the floor leader and a good one. Ramone was the emotional and team leader. When things start to so south it is that guy who needs to bring things back. That is the ingredient that is missing In my humble opinion.

@neumann - you're right...I'm confusing my disappointment in how I was hoping he'd have a more diverse offensive repertoire. Seems to me he's very predictable. He's going to try to get the ball in the post so he can turn left into the middle of the lane to shoot a hook. He has no 2nd or 3rd move. That's my only real issue. He's a really good player and offers a I very basically unstoppable once he gets position.

This team is streaky and can get hot at any minute... I'm not going give up on them. Still believe they'll be at least .500 this season
