Early tip time again today. ESPN 2 again, which is great.
I was trying to say "today begins a stretch of _____ crucial games in a row" but looking at the schedule, there's really no let up until March 1st, when we play Mason and Fordham back to back in the 2nd and 3rd to last games of the year. (And even then things can change, and our record at Rose Hill is nothing to write home about).
So I think its time for us to knock off anything about what each game means to RPI, bid Chances etc. Not because it's futile, but just because the point of this whole thing is to enjoy watching the team play basketball. Every one of our games left is on TV, except the second Bonaventure game. The next 2 after today are on regionally (Comcast network in Philly- although the GW game is tape delayed by a few hours, and on SNY in New York for me) and then every other game is on national TV.
Today, I don't know. VCU is damned good. I think it's gonna take a big effort to win. We'll see.

www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cbask/scores/live/preview.aspx?id=70736Expect this to be a tight contest, but history has shown the Explorers have been able to rebound from defeats under Giannini. The game for La Salle at St. Bonaventure came in the middle of a tight win over Big 5 rival Temple and this game against a team that is off to a fast start this season. If the Explorers can right the ship offensively and not commit too many turnovers, they should come out on top. Sports Network Predicted Outcome: La Salle 72, VCU 68 Kiss o' death?

Usual starters: Duren (which we're apparently pronouncing Dur-an, like Roberto Duran, today) Mills Garland Wright Zak

5 minutes in, and I am happy with our play. Continue to be patient on O, but need to get back faster on D.

11:34 to go in the half. VCU up 13-9.
Missed a few shots that should have gone in. A couple from Duren specifically. Didn't score in the run of play, but VCU only got 4, and DJ is shooting 2 after the time out.

I get that he's out there for other things, but Khalid Lewis is horrendous with the basketball in his hands right now.

This is brutal. The offense is hideous right now. Just dribble and shoot. And Garland's missed about 6 shots in a row.
7:53 to go. VCU up 20-10.

TG took two of the exact same looking ugly shots in two possessions. was def fouled on the 2nd try. ugly shots though. 10-20 VCU. TO Giannini. Not playing very well and forcing shots.

Team is a bad shooting team on a consistent basis. Should lose this game by a wide margin.

WHY is Garland still in the game right now? He may as well have kicked the ball in to the stands his last 4 possessions.

A few of our guys lack intestinal fortitude... Garland needs to be benched.

This havoc bullshit has Tyrone thinking two steps too far ahead, and he's not taking care of the ball in the immediate.

Garland is single-handedly killing this team, at the moment.

I don't think it's single handedly, but he's certainly taken the lead in it the last few minutes.

The type of player Garland should be and the type of player he plays like are two completely different things.

Also at no point should we go 7 consecutive possessions with Duren on the floor and he not touch the ball. Entire offseason should start and run through Tyreek

It's incredible how many times Jerrell has come out and dominated the beginning of the game, only to disappear to the bench (with or without foul trouble) and then not get touches if he ever gets back into the game. We're doing our opponents such a favor.

Khalid, Mills and Garland are not what we needed them to be. This Year.
