Glaser Life Insurance Trust Bequest ?

Oh, wow. I lived in Francis my Freshman year (three or four doors down from Randy Woods. RA's instructions first week of school was to "just leave Randy alone".)
That was an awful little building. The entire first semester, every time I told people I lived there, they'd tell say "oh, that sucks."
Good riddance.

I think a lot of people liked it there. The RA lost control of the floor my year, so some pretty ridiculous stuff was happening just about every night. Bit of a lord of the flies scenario. Fun for a while, not so much fun by November. A lot less fun by April.

I doubt all of E&F was dim yellow fluorescent lighting, but any mental picture I have of time spent there is lit with dim yellow fluorescent lighting.

My freshman year I lived in Francis. My roommate and I were the only freshmen on the floor that was predominately swimmers, XC/Track guys and 1 basketball player. They took my roommate and I under their wing and we had a blowout freshman year (and I have the grades to prove it). Sophomore and Junior years we were on Edwards and we had some great Guyana Punch Parties (a new 30 gallon plastic trash can, grape koolaid, several gallons of grain alcohol and lots of ice) at the end of the hallway. Made pot brownies my junior year in the RA's kitchen. Fun times!

I had the pleasure of speaking with someone from DeSales University on Sunday. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary of the first graduating class.
School founded in 1966. Endowment $91 million as of 2019 stats.
La Salle founded 1863 but real growth after WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam. Endowment $80 million as of 2019 stats.
Not blaming current President entirely but I believe when Br. Mike McGinniss was chosen in 1999 as President one of the mandates was to get the endowment to $100 million.

As an alumni and hopeful for bigger things at La Salle that is frustrating.

Must take into consideration the major La Salle capital improvement projects since 1999 including : Bucks County campus land and Building / Building Expansion, South campus new residence halls, Germantown Hospital Building and land acquisition, construction of Shoppes at La Salle shopping center, multiple West campus small land acquisitions, new Blue & Gold Dining Commons, pedestrian Bridge over Wister Street, Holroyd Science Center renovation, Hanson Quad improvements, new Founders Hall business school, Connelly Library retrofit, former PA. National Guard Armory ( on Ogontz Ave. ) acquisition, etc., not to mention interior renovations / upgrades to several older campus buildings.

So should we expect a laborious Glitter post about the testing process change, the cost of the adirondack chairs or both?

So should we expect a laborious Glitter post about the testing process change, the cost of the adirondack chairs or both? I assume those came from the fortunes made in the great art purge. Now that they've cut men's tennis, I think they can afford 3 more to complete the circle there.

De Sales has expanded their campus too while outpacing our endowment. Better example might be our rivals on City Line Avenue. Going back maybe 10-15 years ago, they had roughly the same endowment as us and are now 3-4 times larger. During that same time frame they have dramatically increased their campus size. It can be done.

Mr. and Mrs. Maguire should be commended for their generosity. Beside SJU they have contributed to other local universities including a million to La Salle. There was talk on the Hawk board about the school seeking indications of donor interest in contributing to the effort to purchase the Seminary if it became available. Someone commented that the school approached the Maguires who politely turned them down.
