Huge news!
I really want someone from a La Sallian background. Maybe not necessarily an alum or a Christian Brother, but someone who gets what we're about. I don't want some academia job hopper.

If its a job hopper who is going to leave in 5 years after doubling our endowment, I'm cool with that.

I'm a traditionalist so I have mixed feelings.
BTW what a weak article. Too lazy to explain to readers what a Christian Brother is, what they do etc.

This has been known on the board for some time now... It is good for them to go public with it...
It was a necessary event and I am glad that leadership has the ability to adapt to the necessary changes

I think this is good news. The trick will be to find someone with a strong business / development background who also has an academia background as well.

www.rockhurst.edu/about/presidents-office/biography/Father Tom Curran is President of Rockhurst University. He attended La Salle for a couple of years and when decided to become a priest he transferred to De Sales. He is a great fundraiser. He is politically connected. He might be very interested in closing out his career in Philadelphia. It is my understanding that he is in the process of leaving the Oblates and becoming a Jesuit. If you know folks on the Board suggest that they interview him.

Whew! I thought you were going to state: A. Brother Mike has a lifetime deal as President; or B. Dr. Denim was taking over as President and building a new "bubble court" in the Gola Arena parking lot as our new home court.
