Hmm.. somewhat surprised at Garland getting 3rd team..
If Garland can perform at an All Conference level this year, this team should be a NCAA Tourney team.. Considering that Duren, Wright and Zack each maintain their continued level of improvement year over year...

Everyone in the country is sleeping on Jerrell. He found his game against the toughest competition last year. If he keeps that focus (admittedly tough over the course of an entire season), then he's going to be A-10 First Team. If you could bet on such a thing, I would throw a few bucks on him winning A-10 Player of the Year. He'd be the best value pick.
Garland's going to take a lot of shots. We know that already. And I'm totally fine with that, especially if his stroke from deep has improved. I think he and Wright have awesome chemistry, too. They hooked up on plays a lot last year. It makes sense. Garland can get into the lane against absolutely anyone (see: SW Philly Floater, which he made over a huge shot blocker) and also has good passing instincts.
Sam not making All-Defense is a crime. Especially since Chaz Williams made the list. Sam locks down guys all the time.

Totally agree on your 1st and (especially) 3rd paragraphs, Coqui. Mills won't get the numbers, but his perimeter scoring prevention is somewhere between very good and elite. He won't get DPoY, but he'll be as important as anyone in the league.
(2nd paragraph I'm still working through. The best part about last year's team was the unselfishness on offense; if Garland walks in as "THE scorer" who is taking his 15+ no matter what, we become a far easier team to defend.)

Exactly my thought on JW - he's going to be an under-the-radar guy early this season and I think has the opportunity to dominate a couple of games.
Tyrone can take a lot of shots so long as they come in the flow of the offense. The beauty of this team last year was that they shared the ball to get open shots and everyone has the green light to shoot it when they're open. If Ty is open, I want him to shoot it and if the offense gets him open 15 times a game, then so be it. So long as he is able to recognize that if teams key on him definsively he needs to find the open guy, eventually it will open up his game. There are enough scorers on this team that if someone elects to cut off one player by doubling them or helping on defense, there will be 3 or 4 other people that can fill it up on the floor with them.
I'm hopeful Steve Zack continues to improve and is motivated to actually play in the NCAA tournament.
In the end, the loss of Galloway will sting a bit, but I think the improvement of Duren, Garland, Petersen and Mills coupled with the addition of Lewis to the rotation will offset Ramon's loss. Layer in the Zack and Wright will be better and you can potentially get some minutes out of guys like Jermain Davis and possibly Rohan Brown and we should be A-OK once more.
The team is on real solid ground.
EDIT:
And can someone PLEASE explain this Chaz Williams thing to me? I just don't get it. He's like Allen Iverson, only not as good. Yes, he's really fast, but he's not a good basketball player, he makes plays sometimes but he's not a good player in my opinion. He gambles on defense and gets burned more than he steals and if he was so good, why haven't they been more successful? They had a decent NIT run a couple years ago playing against teams that didn't want to be in that tournament.

It has been mentioned a couple times (By Rothstein and my inside guy) and Coach G mentioned it, specifically, on the ESPN podcast yesterday... Lewis with a jump shot makes our 4 guard lineup even quicker and faster than before.. that my friends is downright scary...

Philly article states that Amar Stukes could be a spark off the bench. My understanding was that Amar was a red shirt this season and if so why is the writer of article misinformed this close to the start of the season.

Please do a little research before posting (and asking for information ala Coqui on a message board does not constitute reasearch IMHO).

G just got every player mentioned on the interview!! Just classic salesmanship.
I think I would buy rocks from the guy if he was selling them to me.

Forgive my ignorance, but who exactly does the Pre-Season voting? Isn't that the coaches???
EDIT: I don't know why there's a retarded emoticon in my post...
