G on not starting formal practice quite yet, despite being allowed to: "We're going to use the days that we're allowed, but we're not going to get into our normal practice routine until Oct. 11, which would be the normal start of practice. I think the season's long enough to begin with. I'm not sure it's great to make it longer."
Curious to see all the different approaches from the numerous coaching staffs.

I agree with G on this one- longer doesn't always mean better. I think having more time to dedicate to conditioning is probably a great thing but playing 5-on-5 against the same guys could lend itself to boredom, frustration and burnout.

Love what G had to say about winning close games. I have been saying we need to learn how to win for years. Doug Overton said Lionel taught us how to win. He said with 2 minutes to go the team just KNEW that they were going to find a way to win. That tourny run really was incredible for so many reasons and one of the biggest was showing this team how to win close games. Now lets stay healthy and have another season we will never forget.

Best part about those tourney wins is that they were keyed by guys like Garland and Wright and both those guys return.
Believe me, I love what Ranon Galloway did for this team, but it's not like he had 4 stiffs on the floor with him and he drop 30+ each game. This is going to be another great season. Even though Ramon isn't on the roster anymore, I think he changed the entire culture of the program for years to come.
